Author has written 6 stories for Smite, and For Honor. Who am I? Hello there. My name is MissBlackRock, and... before you ask, no, I don't write stories for Black Rock Shooter. I made this username up based off my favorite color, and... something that roughly rhymed with word 'Black', and I couldn't think of anything that rolled off the tongue better. I don't watch that much anime, so I didn't even know Black Rock Shooter was a thing. If you found me based off my username, I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint you. But if you wanna know more about me and my motivations to write, then... keep reading, I suppose! I essentially exist on this site to try and come up with something readable. When I play video games, I always like to make up little characters for the avatars that are typically found in-game, and give them little personalities to bring them to life whenever I play as them. Whether it be Smite, For Honor, Titanfall, Red Dead Redemption, GTA, or Minecraft, I like to give my playable avatars lives of their own, and... I typically end up coming up with something I wanna bring to life by writing. So... here I am! I take inspiration from my own life, books, and... most of all, movies and TV shows, because I love me a comfortable night in front of the TV all wrapped up on a couch when there's nothing else to do or no one to go out with. I'm still quite a young writer, as I'm a simple high school girl who occasionally likes to sit down and write from time to time. I do have quite the busy life, with an athletic life, tons of homework, a knack for trouble, a love for the streets, parties, and all outdoor things of the like, and, probably the most time-consuming of all the beautiful things in this world... a girlfriend. But I still manage to find the time to write as a side-hobby that I quite enjoy whenever I find myself alone. Either way, I sincerely hope that whoever may be reading this finds at least some type of amusement from my sub-par writing skills. One last little thing! I do enjoy constructive criticism on my stories and writing as a whole, so... if you're reading this, and you have something to say about my stories, then don't be shy to leave your comments, or reviews, as they're called on this site. I do my best to respond to reviews, so please, leave some if you have the time to do so. Some general things to note about me: Online aliases: MBR Name: Amara Gender: Female Age: Young. I'm still a teenager. Race/Ethnicity: I am half Colombian, quarter Puerto Rican, and quarter Ecuadorian. So... I'm essentially all Hispanic and of Latin origins. However, I was born in Toronto, Canada. Very strange, I know. But I love my origins, and am very proud of them and my parents. Some general things to note about my writing: This is probably the most important, and controversial thing to note, so I'll list it first. I am indeed a bisexual person, so my stories do indeed have those types of themes within them. Same-sex relationships are very likely in my writing, so... if you are not a supporter of same-sex stories and relationships, or gay and lesbian characters, then... my writing simply might not be for you. I completely understand, as everyone is entitled to have their likes and dislikes, however, this is simply a disclaimer that my writing will typically include same-sex romance of some shape or form. My writing style is less traditional than others, as it tends to focus more on dialogue rather than straight narrative. I typically world-build quite a bit, as well as spend quite a bit of time on facial expression and body movements, while throwing in dialogue between such descriptions. Narrative actions are detailed and dramatic, as well as... slightly exaggerated, for entertainment. Descriptions of voices and audio in general is typically included in the text of my stories. Overall, I focus a lot on what the characters are doing, rather than what's going on in terms of standard storytelling. I tell the story through the actions of the characters. I tend to go overboard with descriptions of damage and pain during stories. I've been getting better at controlling such things over time, but I still sometimes get lose in the moment of a good combat scene, and write something in that should realistically kill a human being. Sure, it's based off a video game, but I still try to stay fairly true to the real world, since the whole point of writing about a game is to make it seem more down-to-earth. On top of this, my writing style is very graphic, violent, and blunt, as I really like to drive forward the fact that getting beaten down, hurts. I use heavy language, dark humor and themes, occasional cliches that I'm a fool for loving, and tons of emotion when writing. I myself am an emotional person, as much as I do hate to admit that. My writing is emotional, filled with explicit language, and can occasionally be cliche, as... well, I love me a good cliche that makes the story seem like a movie, or TV show, which... as I mentioned before, is what I take inspiration from when writing. I cannot write sexual scenes for shit. Besides a detailed, loving kiss, I find it impossible, uncomfortable, and... simply put, strange and difficult to write out sex scenes, lemons, or erotic actions. I've tried my hand at it before in one of my stories in the past, and... I personally still think I did really badly. I can't pace out a sex scene, nor can I properly describe it with the passion and depth that I typically see in other stories and fan-fictions, so... I just don't write them often. Extra stuff: My closest supporters and those I consider friends: Super Mastour/Pristine Dahlia/Sidus Alatus/LadyVirgil/Mr. Cydonia/MKDemigodZ-Warrior If you ever see a blonde named "MissGoldHeart" in my reviews, that's my girlfriend's account. She enjoys making fun of me and sharing my stories with our friends. Truly a cruel girl. Although, she does help me write the stories, so... maybe she isn't so bad. |
