![]() Author has written 54 stories for Smallville, O.C., Law and Order: CI, Being Human, Captain America, and Avengers. Hello, my name is Lisa and i hail from Northern England. I've been writing in some way shape or form for a very long time. My favourite subject at school was English (and history) and my particular favourite lesson was creative writing when i was in primary and middle school so i guess it all started from there. I've been writing fan fiction for a heck of a long time now but it's only since about 2005 that i felt confident enough to share it with other people. I originally wrote Angel fanfic extremely badly and it thankfully never saw the light of day. The first shared fandom was Smallville, namely Clark Kent though i loved writing more about his bad side, namely Kal-El, on red kryptonite. I moved onto Law and Order: Criminal Intent and a big chunk of my fics here are from that fandom concentrating on the character of Detective Robert Goren. I then concentrated on writing Being Human fanfiction and only the UK version. I originally wrote about Mitchell and I said a fond farewell to him to concentrate on Hal. I completed a real labour of love with a multi chapter Hal opus that i had a lot of fun in writing (Numb) . Given that Being Human is no more, i can't say when, if ever i'll return to that fandom but never say never, it was a fantastic one to write in. I don't really 'do' ship fics. Shipping causes nothing but argument and dissention in some fandoms and i can do without all of that. It's probably why most of my fics have an Own Character, someone to bounce the main character against. I'm into characters rather than ships. Even canon ones. I like the complicated characters the most; Robert Goren, John Mitchell, Hal Yorke, Bucky Barnes- not a single one of them is uncomplicated on screen and that's what fascinates me about them. I like stories. I like stories that make me root for the character whether canon or OC. I like OC characters that have been well written, well thought about. I love stories that grab my heart or make me laugh. I can't write humour all that well (well, humour, like art is subjective) so i admire those who write it and write it well. If i like your story then i'll happily leave a review. I know what it's like to have your day made by a few carefully chosen words from someone who's read one of your creations and enjoyed it enough to tell you why. Reviews help with creativity. I'm also a big fan of the Marvel/DC universe- Captain America, Bucky Barnes being my favourite characters. I've seen and own all the MCU movies to date. My first superhero love was Superman, still is to a degree which is why i love both. I do watch the DC tv stuff; Arrow, The Flash and even Legends of Tomorrow. I also love Supernatural, crime drama, some medical drama and a lot of leave your brain at the door kinda stuff too though i'm not a fan of reality tv at all. I like to write with music in the background, in fact me and my red iPod are rarely apart when i am writing. My music loves include Panic! At The Disco, Des Rocs, The Black Keys, Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves and Seether with a bit of The Prodigy thrown in. Music inspires a lot of my work and a few of my fics have song titles as story titles. I also like to read- i enjoy crime fiction, historical fiction and sometimes, romantic fiction. I've been a big reader all my life. I find writing to be a catharsis, i am a very proud parent of two young adults on the autistic spectrum, the eldest who also has severe learning difficulties and when it's has been tough at times, writing has been and continues to be my way of decompressing. I thank the day my husband of a long time bought me my first laptop (i'm now onto my fourth) thus allowing me to indulge in my passion. I find the time to power up, plug in my iPod and i'm off, in a world of my own. I'm also a big history fan, namely British history and i like to do word searches. I've also just recently got back into comic books after a long absence. Avengers, Captain America and Daredevil are current favourites. My family thinks that i'm a geek but i'm just happy. Incidentally, I don't allow my fics to be hosted or posted elsewhere unless with express permission. So if you've got this far through my profile then hello and i hope you take a look at my fics and enjoy them. Reviews are always welcome. |
