Author has written 10 stories for Hardcastle and McCormick, and NCIS.

I've had a long love affair with writing, starting in grade school. Throughout the years I've often written small scenarios about favorite television show characters, well before the advent of fanfiction, scripting out my version of a particular scene or what I wish would have been said/done. These writings were always private, written for my own amusement and enjoyment. I never thought I'd have an outlet to share my own brief stories with others. I came across fanfiction a few years ago and was mesmerized with the stories I found there (still am!). So much talent, so many creative ideas!

I come up with stories probably in an unusual way, without the discipline I imagine many writers use. Out of the blue I will start thinking about a particular character or scene and how I would picture what they would say or do. Often I envision just a snippet of a story and never intend to go further than write out those few paragraphs that have been floating around in my mind for my own satisfaction. On occasion I get on a roll as I write it, fleshing things out and, to my surprise, having an actual story evolve. So I don't use a plot line or anything when I write, as it just comes to me as I begin putting down the words. Or not. If it goes no further than the little scene I originally envisioned, no one will ever know, as I won't share anything that is incomplete.

I love strong character relationships and the interactions between them. My writing style is more along the lines of trying to actually visualize the action or words - would they make sense in real life? Would people really say or do that? And is what I am writing true to characters that are already well established and well loved? I try to guide the reader along by having them almost feel the story as they read, so they can practically hear the sounds or words, feel the emotions, or picture the car chase or hospital scene or whatever else is going on. I hope I am successful in conveying this in my stories.

I don't believe I'll ever be a prolific writer, as for me it's a personal experience and, as noted above, based entirely on whatever happens to pop into my head, not something that develops as result of a determined effort to write something. I hope those who have read any of my stories have enjoyed reading them as much as I have enjoyed writing them. I am amazed and gratified by positive comments I have received and appreciate that my efforts have been well regarded. That is an unexpected but wonderful outcome!
