I'm glad to see someone else thought of this scenario. My aunt bought the PSP re-releases of both for Christmas a while back and while I'd played Star Ocean: The Second Story on PS1 I'd never had a chance to play it's predecessor and when I did finally I found I rather liked Ronixis/Ronyx and couldn't understand just why he'd leave his own son behind like that, imminent doom not withstanding.

Thanks for this. Ronixis really did deserve a better fate, and this fits his character more or less perfectly. He's pretty much based his entire career off being an awesome idiot, why stop now? Though his wife will likely murder him.

I really must concur with the Shark; it's a shame this fic doesn't have more reviews. Nice father and son dynamic, and Ronyx shows he still has some spunk. Seriously, he's not even that old. Definite potential for a full-length story.

This story has no reviews yet? It's brilliant! Well-written -so many authors forget proper punctuation and grammar- and the concept is absolutely fascinating. I'd kind of like to see something like this in a full story sometime (never did like what they did to Ronixis in the game). ~Solid Shark
