A Season 7 project. This story takes up Downton Abbey where Julian Fellowes left it, beginning midway through 1926. This is a serious attempt at a "real" season, embracing all the major characters, and most minor ones, and major/minor plotlines for each of them. There will be 10 episodes plus a Christmas Special. Rated T for allusions to mature subject matter.

Robert’s return to Cora’s bedroom after the events of 5x06. Their subsequent discussion and healing that follows. Oneshot.

An angry outbust from Violet pushes Cora over the edge affter accusing her of wishing that Robert had died after the famous dinner. Their conversation and its aftermath will have Robert scrambling to make it up to Cora. Between 6.08 and 6.09.

What began as an evening fundraiser for hospital patrons, ended in a nightmare. Cora is attacked and the family comes to her rescue while emotions surface and doubts arise. All will be well, but it will take time to arrive at that conclusion. Set after series 6 either before/after the movie. Rated T for a brief description of the attack, but nothing graphic.

When Henry visits Mary the night before his big race, they discuss her parents' relationship.

A death has brought Lettie, Mary's youngest child, back to Downton after a 13 year absence. Her arrival forces her and those around her to face past grievances and old ghosts. Presented with the return of his youngest grandchild, now a young woman the image Cora, Robert is also forced to relive a moment from their history he'd rather leave buried in his receding memories.

"...if you can honestly say you have never let a flirtation get out of hand since we married, never given a woman the wrong impression, by all means stay away. Otherwise, I expect you back in my room tonight." A 'what if' exploring how the narrative might have changed had Robert NOT gone back to Cora's bedroom at the end of Episode 6 in Series 5.

I have never written for Downton Abbey. I love Robert and Cora though. I wanted to try writing something and I had no idea where I was going with it. This was the result ..
