Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter, Yu-Gi-Oh GX, and Pokémon. Name: Underdog Lover Age: Take a wild guess X) UNDERDOG Why am I an Underdog Lover? It's because I like the underdog's. I like the people who are always underestimated, the one's that no one else really likes or the one that very few like. I'm the one who believes in them and believes that they all have something inside them that makes them unique. Main Character, Side Character and, even on rare occasions, the Main or Side Villain. I like these underdog's because they are the real strength of the main characters or the real strength of the people around them. Prime example is Samwise Gamgee of Lord of the Rings. He was the main support and protection of Frodo through all three movies and throughout the books. Frodo even admitted it personally "What about Samwise the Brave, I want to hear more about Sam. Frodo wouldn't have got far without Sam." And that's the absolute truth, but no one bothers to look at the side characters because to them it's all about the one who accomplished the task, not the people who helped them accomplish it. Another character I feel who is always pushed aside and treated like crap for a few mistakes is, and you all saw it coming, the best friend of the boy who lived Ron Weasley. Now before you back out and start scoffing at me or attempt to think of ways to prove me wrong I want you to read and pay attention. We all know Ron is a bit immature, but who the hell wasn't at the ages of 11-17. Hell most people into their twenties are still incredibly immature and as for the no tact... well yeah he does have that problem, but so do most guys in the world and so do some women. Go to New York and Los Angeles and you'll find out. (If you are from those two cities then I apologize). And not to mention people constantly rip on him for his mistakes; they always see the mistakes before the good things. Yes he insulted Hermione in the first book, but he still ran off to help her without a moment's hesitation and saved her life with Harry. Yes he had abandoned Harry in their Fourth Year because he thought Harry went around his back and did something without telling him. That was their first major spat and friends have those all the times and it always ends in an awkward apology before everything is fine again. I'll bet anything Sirius and James had a similar spat when Sirius almost got Snape killed by the Whomping Willow when he blabbed and James had to save him. And of course their's the biggest one of all; his jealousy and insecurity that led him to leaving Harry and Hermione in the Horcrux Hunt. He was absolutely frustrated because they had a Horcrux, but had no way to destroy it; Dumbledore knew how to destroy it and yet didn't leave them any clue on how to do it and made them figure out everything. Sorry, but if it's a war that's going on and lives are on the line, screw subtlety and just be blunt. Any sane person would be frustrated. Then add to the fact he was worried about his family since they were all Blood Traitors and that put them among the prime targets for Death Eaters and Snatchers. Added worry for your family, plus the frustration of not being able to do anything about the Horcrux's would weight heavily upon anyone's temper. I don't condone his actions, but I believe that they did not warrant all the hate he gets from the Harry Potter Fans. They even have a website where they do nothing, but hate on him; I don't know what you all think, but to me that's pretty sad and pathetic. If you're going to hate on someone then have a good reason to hate them; yes he did abandon them, but he admitted he wanted to come back as soon as he left, but didn't know how to find them. And guess what Harry Lovers, if he hadn't of come back then Harry would've died because he was too stupid to take off the Horcrux before jumping into an ice lake in the middle of winter. If it's one thing that Harry and Hermione lacked that Ron had, it was common sense. His jealousy stems from his upbringing. Imagine being in the shadows of five extremely talented and good looking brothers and you were average compared to them. and your only little sibling was a girl who was also extremely beautiful and talented. I'd love to meet the person who didn't develop an inferiority complex from growing up in an environment like that. His mother was always so busy with the others and his father was always at work so he never had anyone to talk to. Bill and Charlie were too old and away at school, Percy was all about studying and all Fred and George did was prank him mercilessly. And let's face it, no big brother talks about his problems to his little sister; that's like asking for mocking laughter. Can any of you say you know how it feels to be him, growing up always being pranked or ignored by your siblings with a mother who couldn't even remember your favorite color or your favorite food and a father who worked hard to support his wife and seven children. As you see now, I am an Underdog Lover because I believe those underdogs can do great things if they believed in themselves and not let what others say get to them. If any of you supported or agreed with what I said then you are an honorary underdog lover as well. Feel free to copy and paste this to your profile if you feel as strongly about the underdog's as I do. UNDERDOG |
