I do not have a beta reader right now, and I end up rereading my own chapters several times before I finally post it. My mind works faster than my hands, so typos are usually abundant in the first draft. I'm only human, so if you notice a spelling or grammatical mistake, please feel free to point it out to me in a PM and I'll be sure to fix it quickly. This is my take on the rather ambiguous ending to the Code Geass series: "There's more to the canon ending than you would get at first glance. It appears that he dies to fix the world's problems. However.. when Nunnally touches his dying form, she sees a glimpse of everything Lelouch had planned. How did she see his memories? There's only one explanation. He had one of the Code's. We can tell by C.C.'s crying prayer that it wasn't her Code. Now, think back to the World of C. His father used the hand with the Code to grip Lelouch by the neck, and Lelouch told Suzaku to stop when he was about to intervene. Lelouch had just achieved the level of Geass seemingly required to take the Code, the double eyed, uncontrollable version. So, how was Lelouch still able to use his Geass for all those months afterwards? Simple. The Code doesn't activate until a moment that would kill the person. The only times we've seen a Code transferred, the recipient was fatally wounded before the Code took hold. In other words, when Lelouch used his Geass to make the Emperor kill himself, the Geass did actually work. At the moment of death, the Code Charles had taken became active, regenerating the damage from the bullet. From the moment Lelouch takes the throne, C.C.'s is shown to be constantly depressed. The only time she smiles is when Lelouch is telling her that he doesn't hate her. However, in that final scene, C.C.'s talking to Lelouch and smiling. Wouldn't it be a bit odd for her to be suddenly happy after bawling her eyes out over a man she was just realizing she loved? The only rational conclusion, is that Lelouch is the one driving her little cart. The man shrouded and completely obscured from the camera, why? Well if anyone knew he was alive, it would ruin everything. It would seem perfectly feasible that Lelouch and C.C. could go about living in secret together, as the Witch and the Warlock as Lelouch had promised her at the end of the first season." Regarding Rules or Righteousness(update as of 9/20/10): I have not forgotten about this, and I will finish it eventually. I just don't know when I'll get around to it. Sorry, everyone. -CptnEdwards |
