I am very young and terribly pale and I'm fairly sure I have some agoraphobic tendencies. Hence my staying at my laptop and writing fanfiction.

My main fandom at the moment is Phantom of the Opera, and the result of my obsession (er... intense interest) is Sanctification, also known as Sanc, a mixture of Kay, Webber and Leroux set in England, post-Christine. It's going on a year and we're still very happy together. My wonderful beta is Le Chat Noir, known as Chatastic here on FFN, and without her I would be lost in the woods with a laptop. Now, I am asked some questions somewhat regularly and I am going to address them below. Ahem.

Are you going to publish Sanc?
Hahaha. No.

What version of the story do you base your Erik on?
Erik is a mixture, as most phiction!Eriks are, of Kay, Webber and Leroux. Admittedly, not very much Leroux, but I get him in there sometimes. I love Susan Kay's book, and I use it as reference whenever possible. There are, however, definite elements of Webber in him, because an all-Kay Erik would be a bit too much for me to handle.

You're writing an OW story.
Yes.
Which means he isn't with Christine.
Right.
Do you hate her or something?
No, I don't. I just don't think that they would be a functional couple. Maybe that's where I slip Leroux into the story. I think that Christine loved Raoul and not Erik and that's all there is to it. I do not like to think of this young girl as being the be-all and end-all for an older, wiser, somewhat crazier man. I think she'd be happier with Raoul. So, really, I have her best interests at heart.

Your original character, Isabel, is married. How is that going to work itself out? And what's the deal with her husband?
Aw. You know you'd hate it if I actually told you.

Is the stable ever going to be used for anything other than sheltering the horses?

I, like so many others, was drawn into the story because of the huge, overblown, hysterically fabulous movie. Shortly after falling madly in love with it, I read the book, got a hold of Susan Kay's novel, watched a whole slew of adaptations and bought way too many versions of the cast recordings. I'm sorry to say that I prefer Gerard Butler's Phantom over either Michael Crawford or Colm Wilkinson. However, experiencing Hugh Panaro over the summer sealed the deal for me. The man is sex on legs, yet properly deformed. In other words, perfection.
