I decided to publish this one for this month, as it's a Bodie story.

Many thanks to 'Sad Lady' for allowing me to borrow Cora for a while. Cowley orders his team to attend the Remembrance Service parade at the Cenotaph. Not everyone is keen.

Bodie enjoys his nautical assignment

I'll spare you Chapter 1 - it makes the story too long - all you need to know is that Doyle found his partner unconscious in his apartment - another victim of a flu pandemic. Doyle got help, but then succumbed to flu himself later. A private convalescent/rehabilitation home for armed/emergency services has been pressed into use for thes cases during this emergency. I seem to have ended up in a similar place to Wilsden's excellent piece. In this, it's a pity we didn't get to hear the rest of Bodie and Doyle's bedtime conversation in 'Mixed Doubles'. Here's my take.

Just trying out a 'voice'. You may remember the U.S pulp magazines and the hard private eyes played by the likes of Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney - so, apologies to Raymond Chandler and Mickey Spillane !
