Author has written 26 stories for Fairy Tales, Harry Potter, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Emma. Have you seen Invisible Children? No, I'm not trying to be clever. It's the title of a documentary. Do you know what us happening in Uganda as I type this, as you read this? Since 1995, Acholi children have been abducted by a rebel group called the Lord's Resistance Army and forced to fight for them in a kill-or-be-killed situation. Then these children kidnap other children and grow up to become the Lord's Resistance Army themselves. They pick children ages 5-14, because they are big enough to carry a gun and small enough to be completely brainwashed. The invisible children are ignored by most people since after they escape from the LRA, they cannot function as usual. Also, the threat of the LRA causes many, many people who live in the country to walk to the town in order to stay safe from them in hospitals and other public places. You would not believe how many of them there are sleeping all together in desperation. A short time ago, I didn't even have the smallest idea that this was going on. Now, along with a lot of my classmates, I'm trying to raise awareness about the situation in Uganda. Please, please visit the website. I, Phillippa of the Phoenix, do solemnly swear to review all the fics I read, regardless of the number of reviews, its age, or anything else. Please, please join the Review Revolution and the effort to change the way fanfiction works. (just post it in your profile, lovelies, no need to talk to me.) All right, you've arrived at the informational part of my profile slash bio! Since you may indeed be seeking information, let me try to anticipate your search and say: Number One: Despite it being a very long time since I have added a chapter (hello, it's coming near to two years) to Sisters and Stepsisters, it is not done or without a future. SISTERS AND STEPSISTERS IS NOT and SHALL NOT BE ABANDONED. But it will be a while (obviously) until the next chapter comes. I've half-rewritten the existing chapters, and I'm trying to figure out the story, basically. I feel like it's gotten very plot-heavy all ready and it wouldn't be good to just keep going without a plan to untangle all the knots I've made. So. Number Two: I'm not MIA, I'm just . . . kind of blocked. Plus my computer crashed this summer. Blegh. I'm trying. Number Three: I write practically every pairing under the sun. Number Four: Er, yes, I probably am the worst updater the world has ever seen. That's why I'm committed to only putting up stories I've finished from now on. Phillippa over and out! postscript: go read all of my favorite authors. you will not regret it. |
