AU. Early summer, 1601. The Western Army is defeated; the country stands, uneasy, under the hand of the Tokugawa. Kaoru Kamiya, whose family was on the losing side, has been sold into marriage for the sake of peace. Her new husband is a legend, a demon bound in human form, marked by his blood-lust and his bright red hair. However, legends have a way of being not exactly... true.

AU. In the eleventh year of the Meiji, 1878, Japan still practices chattel slavery. The Tokugawa shogunate still reigns from Edo castle, backed by the infamous Kanryu family and their merchant empire. And Kaoru Kamiya finds an abandoned slave hiding under the docks as she's walking home...

"When he woke up that morning, if he had been told that he was going to be naked and holding Kagome to him in the square footage of a coffin, he would have punched the person in the jaw. And yet, here he was." (Limes!)

For a thousand years the village has known of the beast living in the old palace. A beast said to live on human blood. One father knows the truth, and is now bound by word to return a favor he has ignored for thirteen years.

It would be fair to say that Kaoru fell in love with Kenshin after three days of knowing him. Sometimes, she was sure he felt the same. Really, it all would've been wonderful if it would just go somewhere. ONE SHOT

In the hospital, Post-Promised Day, Edward contemplates the loss of his alchemy.

A short and sweet story in which Kenshin starts a garden, and a family. "The farmer's orphan in him felt somewhat hurt by her comment. He paused for a few moments, unsure of how to respond. 'I was a farmer's son a long time ago. I see nothing shameful in raising one's own food.' "

AU. Kagome is the principal of an elementary school. Inuyasha is a janitor. A story told in bits and pieces.
