Author has written 71 stories for Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5, Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, and Star Wars Rebels. Hi! If you're reading this, that means you enjoyed one of my stories enough to check me out, so thanks! P.S. I secretly dislike my penname because I made it way back when in 2011 (there are so many regrets) but I just feel like I'm known by it now so I feel as if I shouldn't change it... anyways, call me Kgirl. I just noticed that a lot of authors explain their avatar in this, so...I just thought mine was cute! Not my actual hand, in case you were curious...? I love PMs and discussing the fandom/life in general, so feel free to send one! (I also write at AO3 under the same username.) Major fandoms include Star Wars Rebels and Battle Force 5, but many other cartoons and animated movies hold a special place in my heart! Currently (March 28, '20): I'm back to writing (amazing how much free time a quarantine provides) and hoping to update Room for One More soon. Now let's bring it down for a moment...Kgirl's gonna get deep, bear with me. So, every once in a while when I get bored, I go back and re-read some of my old stories. And I'll be honest, sometimes I laugh (I really want to do another humor fic, for awhile it was my thing!) and sometimes I get teary-eyed (Not Without You, anyone?)! But, now that I've admitted that (embarrassing) little detail, you should probably know that I've winced, too, and usually while reading my first story. I've considered re-writing it, no, not reposting for attention/more reviews but just going back through the chapters and editing/replacing them to make them, well, better. Not changing the plot, just fixing some (okay a lot of) mistakes. (And maybe adjusting Stella's character because that mini-fic-series was written BEFORE I understood what a Mary Sue was. After inadvertently creating the perfect example of one, I've got a pretty good handle on the idea). But thinking on it, I've decided to keep that particular story just the way it is, and my reasoning is where it gets deep. I think that everybody who reads/reviews my fics (I'm extremely enamored with all of you, by the way :)) should have access to evidence that we all start out as beginners. I want you guys to know that I definitely joined fanfiction far from perfect and probably even far from good, and I'm certainly not saying that I am now (but hopefully you all think I'm a little closer). I just want to roll with the fact that we were all beginners or n00bs at a time, and I think everybody should see that. The road to becoming a better author involves a lot more reading and writing, and maybe some constructive criticisms along the way. I guess the point I'm trying to make is, I improved by doing more of what I loved. I'm leaving my old stories, mortifying as they may be, as proof of that. You gotta start somewhere, so don't stop writing, don't stop reading, and if you're ever feeling low, just go to my profile, scroll all the way to the bottom, and click. I guarantee that just the first chapter (probably even title, honestly. Ugh. What was I thinking?) will make you feel better, and hopefully motivate you to pick the pen (keyboard?) back up. We all finish the race farther out from where we started. So stay classy, my friends, and never stop writing. |
