Hello fellow fanfiction readers and writers.

Welcome to my page!

I have been an avid fanfiction reader for far too many years to count, and a fanfiction writer for just as long.

My first forays into this wonderful, creative world of writing was making up new adventures for the characters in the Jonny Quest universe, and I haven't looked back, jumping back and forth and back again from all variety of fandoms. Lately, I find myself utterly besotted with anything and everything to do with animation. There are just so many beautiful shows and wonderful stories out there, and I simply can't help myself, trying to caputre just a grain of magic in a bottle by looking to these works for inspiration in my own writing.

So, a brief history on my love affair with animation...I am a child of the 80s, so the Disney Renaissance was my bread and butter growing up, not to mention living in the era when Saturday morning cartoons were worth waking up for (although I am so happy to see that weekend cartoons are finally showing signs of life once again). There's always been something especially mesmerizing to me about animation and the way a story can be told with little more than paper, pencil, ink and paint (and later, computers). Anyway, aside from North American cartoons, I also watched AstroBoy and Dragonball growing up, not quite understanding just how and why the animation was different until my pre-teens when Sailor Moon made its Canadian debut and I learned the difference between animation and anime.

And I must confess, I'm sort of hooked on anime.

It's all about the storytelling, really. Some of the plots outlined in Japanese animation is so complex, so interesting, disturbing, enlightening, even maddening, that for years and years I find more and more to love about this style of visual storytelling. That doesn't mean that I think the art of the North American cartoon is dead. On the contrary, I think that Western animators have, at last, taken a cue from their Eastern peers and began looking (and I mean REALLY looking) at the story of a cartoon. It's all well and good to have bright colors, funny voices, and show impossible things on a show, but unless there's an interesting story to follow, then what's the point?

It would take up far too long to detail every show that I love, so I'll leave it with you that my current fangirl obsession is The Legend of Korra and most (if not all) of the works I publish to this site will be about said show. I hope that you enjoy them.

Stories are near and dear to me, and that's all I'm really trying to do with my own writing: tell a story. True, the characters and universe are not entirely my own, and I don't claim that they are, but the stories are mine, and to me, that's what makes them important. The fact that you read them, for like or loathe, is what makes them special.
