Author has written 18 stories for King Arthur, and Musketeers. Finally got around to filling this out... here goes: 1.) My name is Lauren. 2.) I'm 20. 3.) My birthday is April 1st. Yes, April Fool’s Day. No, not really that awesome, but it’s fine as long as no one pranks me ;) 4.) I’m an English major/creative writing minor in college. 5.) I read obsessively and binge watch TV shows nightly. 6.) I love hurt/comfort, mental and physical, so anything I write will probably have that. And loads of angst. 7.) I have an overdeveloped sense of empathy, which works well for writing fanfics because I find it easy to inhabit a character’s head, even the evil ones. 8.) I never worked up the courage to post anything before this stuff, but I want to be a writer. 9.) I have about a bazillion story ideas at any one time and will only ever get to a fraction of them. Also, I go through periods where I just stop writing altogether. My name is a reference to Monty Python’s The Holy Grail. If you got that reference without reading this, I love you. I’m a member of more fandoms than I can count, but I’ll give listing my favorites a shot: The Musketeers, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Supernatural, Sherlock, Avengers, Merlin, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, X-Men, Torchwood, Doctor Who, Les Mis, Almost Human, and the A-Team. All-time favorite characters: Aramis, Porthos, Athos, Sherlock, John, Castiel, Kili, Legolas, Aragorn, Samwise Gamgee, Loki, Merlin, Gwaine, Jaime, Tyrion, Jon Snow, Ianto Jones, Sirius, Enjolras, Dorian, Hook, and Face My favorite book is Watership Down. My favorite author is Terry Pratchett. I beta for some truly amazing authors like WizzKiz and Come Hither Ashes, who both write fantastic Musketeers fics. I've also done a bit of reading for Fire and Ice, an amazing crossover by Lokimis that throws together those lovely Musketeer boys with some delectable Norse gods ;) Favorite Pairings: I like writing reviews and I love reading reviews on my work. Any feedback is welcome, and I actually love constructive criticism. Seriously, if I can make it better, TELL ME. I also love filling requests, so if you’re reading a story of mine and want to see something else in that fandom, let me know! And now a hodge-podge of quotes that I love, drawn from every source under the sun: “I was born to catch dragons in their dens “Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light; “I am and always will be the optimist. The hoper of far-flung hopes. The dreamer of improbable dreams.” – Eleventh Doctor “The brave men did not kill dragons. The brave men rode them.” – Viserys "Childhood is not from birth to a certain age and at a certain age the child is grown and puts away childish things. Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies." - Edna St. Vincent Millay “Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.” – Kurt Vonnegut “Writers don’t write from experience, though many are resistant to admit that they don’t. I want to be clear about this. If you wrote from experience, you’d get maybe one book, maybe three poems. Writers write from empathy.” - Nikki Giovanni “Many people need desperately to receive this message: ‘I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.’” – Kurt Vonnegut “We wear clothes, and speak, and create civilizations, and believe we are more than wolves. But inside us there is a word we cannot pronounce and that is who we are.” – Anthony Marra “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only once.” – George R.R. Martin “If you will practice being fictional for a while, you will understand that fictional characters are sometimes more real than people with bodies and heartbeats.” – Richard Bach “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”- Gandalf “If they ever tell my story let them say that I walked with giants. Men rise and fall like the winter wheat, but these names will never die. Let them say I lived in the time of Hector, tamer of horses. Let them say I lived in the time of Achilles.”- Odysseus “It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end, because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.”- Sam “What are we holding on to, Sam?”- Frodo “That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for!”- Sam |
