 Author has written 6 stories for Star Wars, Stargate: Atlantis, Dragon Age, and Castle. My name's Megan, and I'm from Washington State. As of August 2011, I have a BA in English and a BMus in Piano Performance; right now I'm investigating grad school possibilities for the future, and I'm attempting to get my original work (poetry and short fiction) published in literary journals in the US. Eventually I'd like to make a living by playing piano in collaboration with other musicians, and hopefully publishing a novel. I write because I love the power of language and the fun of creating characters that "live" in the reader's imagination. It's immensely rewarding to write characters that readers can emotionally connect with. I read a lot of YA fiction, especially sci-fi and fantasy, because I enjoy coming-of-age stories for the way characters transform in a palpable way over the course of the book. Some of my favorite authors are Suzanne Collins, Marcus Zusak, Diana Wynne Jones, Tamora Pierce, Terry Pratchett, Charlaine Harris, and JK Rowling. Some of my interests are reading, writing, playing piano, horseback riding, sewing clothes and accessories, digital artwork, knitting, and cooking. I hope you enjoy my writing! |
