Current Plans

As of right now, I plan on writing a Pokemon series through Kanto, Orange Islands, and Johto. Lots of things sort of tie itself together about these three regions. I want to continue through Kalos as I don't have a solid idea on Alola nor enough of an impression on Galar yet. If I have the time and enough support, I will attempt to do those regions and I will always finish whatever region I'm on regardless if I have to stop the series.

Submitting an OC

For my series, I'm open to featuring OCs from my readers. They'll go up against one of the main characters or their rivals in competitions like the Pokemon League, Contests, Tournaments, and other forms of competitions. If you're interested in having an OC featured, please send me a PM with a Subject Line along lines of "Submitting an OC". In the message, I would like...

1. First and Last Name

2. Hometown/Region: It can be Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, Orange Islands, Decolore Islands, Orre, Holon, Ransei, Oblivia, Fiore, Pasio, Almia, Ferrum. Some info about the regions is down below and how they fit in my Pokemon World.

3. Description of appearance: Eye color, hairstyle, hair color, clothing items, facial features (optional), handicap (optional), injuries (optional), etc.

4. Description of personality: What are they like and how do they act around people? Fears? Passions? Quirks?

5. Profession(s): Gyms, Contests, Performer, Groomer, Breeder, Connoisseur, Inventer, Researcher, etc/other. (You can pick more than 1 like Nando in DP or by extension Serena) Note that Showcases don't exist in my world. If you're a performer, you're most likely a street performer, actor, or a YouTuber (Pokevision) or along those lines

6. Who you want to go up against: Any main character and rivals are up for grabs. You can choose more than one person as well.

7. Who your character fancies (optional): If you want your character to fancy someone like Ash, Serena, Brock, Misty, Gary, or Leaf, I'll write it in. Note that they most likely won't get paired up with the OC but certain characters can be jealous.

8. Pokemon Line Up: Give me however many as you want. It could by region. You can have unique physical characteristics like scars or burns for them. You can also have accessories if you want too. Limitations on hidden abilities (they're rare): 2 Max. Limitations on Shiny (extremely rare): 1 Max. If there's a particular Pokemon you want me to feature with your character, please let me know. I’m going to ignore any legendary.

9. A paragraph or two on their backstory: This can be as long as you want. I do want the general idea of what their upbringing is and their dreams and goals

Guidelines

1. Gender/Orientation: I'm accepting of all people so if you want to submit an LGBT character, I will encourage it. I care not if other people will want to bash me because of it.

2. Keep in mind the tone of my story in regards to creating these characters. There might be an exception here and there pending on where I'm at, but generally, this is a light-hearted story with some mature stuff going on. I don't plan on having anyone swear and there's a possibility I will conform the character to fit my tone.

Regions

1. Kanto-Galar (Hybrid stuff between the Games and Anime. Hoenn might be a Tag Battling League)

2. Orange Islands and Decolore Islands (Pretty much the same as Anime, except the Organe League is different. It might be more of a tag battle league)

3. Orre: A place with a few settlements. There's not a whole lot of governing structures compared to the other regions. Trainers usually come here to train due to the Pokemon in the area being strong. However, it's also home to an organization that corrupts Pokemon. It's been getting more attention by the International Police who at the moment do not have any jurisdiction there, but it's not stopping them from investigating.

4. Holon: A fairly newly discovered region with the city of Holon being the only city so far. Plans to expand have halted due to newly developing regional variants due to the electromagnetic tower to locate Victini. It's home to many unique Pokemon so people have been researching.

5. Ransei: This region still has its roots with the 17 Kingdoms. It's like feudal Japan in many ways with the only way to get there is by ferry. Instead of fighting for territory like the days of old, they're fighting for pride with many people of the kingdoms participating in tag, triple, or battle royals. Most humans also train in the way of the ninja, samurai, and other ancient ways of life.

6. Oblivia: Pokemon Rangers observe this area like a hawk. It's a paradise where people and Pokemon live in harmony, side-by-side. Each person has a Pokemon partner that travels very similarly to how Pikachu travels with Ash or in general Pokemon follows their partner anywhere. It's possible to have more than one partner but battling isn't a huge component of this region. Only one specific spot is where you can find some battles, but it's more casual than competitive

7. Fiore: This region doesn't have a league nor Pokeballs. It's a paradise where people and Pokemon live in harmony, side-by-side. Each person has a Pokemon partner that travels very similarly to how Pikachu travels with Ash or in general Pokemon follows their partner anywhere. It's possible to have more than one partner but battling isn't a huge component of this region. Only one specific spot is where you can find some battles, but it's more casual than competitive. Pokemon Rangers often come here to train and other competitions like races and PokeRinger have flourished here.

8. Almia: Location of the Ranger School. It's a paradise where people and Pokemon live in harmony, side-by-side. Each person has a Pokemon partner that travels very similarly to how Pikachu travels with Ash or in general Pokemon follows their partner anywhere. It's possible to have more than one partner but battling isn't a huge component of this region. Only one specific spot is where you can find some battles, but it's more casual than competitive

9. Pasio: Home to the Masters League tournament. It's where a Team of 3 can travels around the region to fight other teams and earn points. Not a lot of wild Pokemon.

10. Ferrum: Battles/Leagues are different here. There's a series of tournaments vs the Gym System.

Goals for My Characters (Will Update whenever I get to the Chapters that change their goals)

1. Ash Ketchum - He wants to be a Pokemon Master and study Pokemon Potential and how to bring out a Pokemon's greatest strengths through battles

2. Serena Paschell - Wants to become a Contest Grandmaster and researching Pokemon happiness

3. Brock Harison - Aspiring to become a Pokemon Doctor

4. Misty Waterflower - Currently aspiring to be Gym Leader of Cerulean Gym (She will do something useful, I promise)

My Top 5 Favorite Pokemon Anime Characters

1. Serena - Perhaps Dawn or May have better stories or goals compared to Serena. But I really enjoy how she's a breath of fresh air after nearly 20 years of the series. Compared to every other PokeGirl, Serena was the one who didn't have petty arguments or bickering with Ash. The one time they did have an argument, it felt really deserving and helped with character development. Besides that, I do enjoy her story of standing up to her mother to do her dreams and how she helped Ash when he felt insecure.

2. May - Similar reason, it felt refreshing to have a protag who had a goal. Misty had a vague goal and most of the time, we don't see her actively getting closer to her dreams while May had to discover what her passion is all about. She had to defy expectations from being a Gym Leader's daughter and gone in Contests that set the stage for Dawn's goal and indirectly with Serena.

3. Dawn - I liked how Dawn started off confident in her abilities as a Coordinator but learned very quickly that her confidence isn't enough (though the anime could have done a better job in some cases regarding her not making it past the appeal stage). That she had to learn how to never give up and keep trying until she managed the upset of the century against May. Moreover, she felt as if she was actively helping Ash develop as a Trainer. She's a tactical genius despite Ash executing her plans better than her most of the time.

4. Ash - Of course, he was going to be on this list haha. He is the prime reason why I enjoy the Pokemon anime for such a long time (minus the Unova region parts). From the very first episode in saving Pikachu to performing epic wins. I root for this guy every league even though I know he wouldn't likely win them. I'm proud that he finally won one, but I'm not super thrill about the Alola league as he should have won in Kalos in my opinion.

5. Clemont - I think the gag with his inventions blowing up was really fun when I got around to watching XY for the first time. It was clever and his inventions evolved and helped out over time. He's a great older brother type of character to Bonnie and the Jap Dub of the battle between him and Ash was really great. I love his role in the Team Flare arc and how he strived to analyze Ash's battling style when it is truly unpredictable.
