![]() Author has written 24 stories for NCIS, Vampire Diaries, Once Upon a Time, Scarlet Pimpernel, Veronica Mars, Musketeers, Man From U.N.C.L.E., Scandal, and Grey's Anatomy. I realized when I took a good look at this profile that it's been almost three years since I updated. Which is kind of a long time. I didn't stop writing fanfic because I stopped caring about the stories or the characters (although I will freely admit that both the shows I wrote for changed in ways that made it significantly harder to write about the pairings I loved). Mostly, I just got busy. Real life has a tendency to do that. But the stories were still there in the back of my head, and now I've got a bit of time and desire to start letting them back out. I started out writing fanfic for NCIS, which was the result of a serious addiction to Mark Harmon and really the show in general. (Donald P. Bellisario is a genius. No question.) I still love NCIS, though I don't write much for it anymore. My favorite 'ship was Kate/Gibbs, and when Season 2 ended I lost a lot of my inspiration. I keep hoping that I'll regain it at some point, though. I moved into writing for The Vampire Diaries, and stayed there for several years. I was (and am) a Delena fan all the way. I can honestly say that none of the other 'ships ever made much sense to me. But the past season wasn't nearly what I was expecting, and I've decided to take a break from that fandom for a while. Maybe I'll come back to it someday...who knows. Right now I'm looking at Once Upon a Time (yes I ship Captain Swan, why do you even have to ask) and maybe a little Sherlock. I was considering a little Veronica Mars, but from the looks of things, I missed that boat a long time ago. As far as personal information goes...well, that's a little different. I'm a closet romantic, which translates to cynicism in public and sighing over Heathcliff and Catherine in private. I have a thing for Byronic heroes. I am driven mad by copyediting errors and groan internally when I find them within my own work. And I write fanfic just for fun--not that I don't take the craftsmanship seriously, because good writing should always be a serious thing, but because what I write in my real life reminds me that sometimes you just need an outlet. I also have a thing for the Pre-Raphaelites and Victorian themes in general--hence the picture. It's Dante Gabriel Rossetti's Lady Lilith, in case you were wondering. At any rate, I hope you enjoy whatever I have to offer. Please read and review, but do try to be gentle. Every writer needs constructive criticism. (And we're all fragile little creatures deep down inside.) Thanks! fairwinds09 09/07/2009--Note: Thanks so much to everyone who read "Coffeeshop," reviewed it, voted for it, or simply recommended it to someone else. I was deeply honored to receive the award for Best Romance from the NCIS community at livejournal. It's great to know that people enjoyed my work enough to simply nominate it, let alone give it an award. Thanks again, and I hope to keep writing stories you'll love to read. :) |
