Author has written 4 stories for BlazBlue, and RWBY.

Call me Minaris.

Just a guy who likes reading, writing, shooting, weightlifting, video gaming, and guitaring... but mainly reading and writing, hence my involvement here.

Expect pointless and out-of-place talk about guns in whatever I write.

Besides that, I'd prefer to let my material speak for me rather than speak for myself.

And speaking of my material...

Stories

Current Stories

The Seventh Circle - A story about a Faunus version of Ruby being taken in by the White Fang, then manipulated and trained to be a killer. In time, she manages to escape the White Fang, but finds herself forced to contend with her own inner demons due to things she did while serving the group.

This is a story primarily focused on guilt, forgiveness, trauma, friendship, and mental illness. It will cover everything from before Beacon to Beacon and beyond. Needless to say, it will be long. Chapters will average 10k words or more, generally around 12k to 15k, but there will be at least a few that will stretch to 20k and beyond.

Updates every other Saturday, alternating with Problems With Dating the RWBY Girls.

Problems With Dating the RWBY Girls - A crackfic focusing on Jaune and the various situations he gets himself into upon entering a relationship with the female characters of the RWBY cast, as told through various unconnected one-shots.

This is the exact opposite of The Seventh Circle. Whereas that fic has gone through extensive planning and revision, this one is completely improvisational and stream-of-consciousness... and is also stupid as hell and not at all serious.

Chapters do not have a defined length, but will generally come in at around 10k words, more or less. There are some exceptions, but this is generally the case.

Chapters also do not have a defined structure, meaning that the content of each will likely be different compared to the others in order to adjust for the girl being paired with Jaune.

Updates every other Saturday, alternating with The Seventh Circle.

Completed Stories

Hidden Desires - A humorous one-shot centered around a porn-addicted Weiss and her attempts to let her husband (Jaune) know that she really wants to try BDSM. No smut.

Upcoming Stories

No multi-chapter stories planned as of yet. This will change in time.

One-shots may come out intermittently depending on when inspiration strikes. These do not have a fixed schedule nor word count, and will be posted as they are completed. These can cover just about anything besides smut and yaoi.

Dead Stories

Sector Seven From Ten to Eleven - Lost interest in Blazblue due to dropping the games for a bit, and also because the archive was a mess for a while. I have no intention of ever going back, simply because I have become enamored with RWBY as of late, and have too much to work on with that series to consider trying to expand to another. This story will remain up for those who still wish to read it, but it will no longer be updated.

The Obligatory Anime Section

Because apparently every profile needs one of these, if every other profile I've seen is any indication. Rather than give you my favorites and make yet another list consisting of Konosuba, Cowboy Bebop, HunterXHunter, and Fullmetal Alchemist, why don't I try something a bit different?

Minaris' List of Underrated Anime, and Why You Should Watch Them

Serial Experiments Lain:If I had to pick my favorite anime of all time, this would probably be it, if not a strong contender. I feel like Lain is one of those shows that isn't really talked about outside of a few people who happen to know what it is, but all of those people have seen it, and all of them are fans. I can't really describe it in a way that does it justice - it's weird, it's genuinely unnerving, it's simultaneously a product of its time and ahead of its time... really, the best way I can describe Serial Experiments Lain is that it's Serial Experiments Lain. I've never seen anything quite like it, and highly recommend that anyone in the mood for something weird give it a shot.

Gantz:Another weird one. Gantz is a show that I feel is hard to get into, mainly because you'll probably start off wanting to just punch every character in the face. Things pick up, however, and the MC steadily goes from 'Designated Hero' to 'Hero'. This show is quite bloody and gory, so if that's your thing, you'll have a good time. Also, this is one of the few shows where the MC actually (eventually, and not with the girl you think) gets laid on-screen, so if you're sick of seeing protagonists get rebuked by everyone, then this is for you. In all seriousness, this is another genuinely good show, one that I would recommend to anyone looking for something a bit different than your usual anime affair. It's tough to get into at first, but it's definitely worth it. And if you really like it, there's always the manga, which gets even more nuts.

Gunslinger Girl:Season 1 only, because Il Teatrino kind of sucks. If you really want more Gunslinger Girl, read the manga, which is actually quite good. Anyway, this show is simultaneously an action-romp and a look at the cruel reality of being a cyborg child soldier. Featuring some genuinely sad moments along with some excellent gunplay and choreography, Gunslinger Girl has it all... except for Season 2 (the aforementioned Il Teatrino). We don't talk about Season 2, except to mention that it sucks and you shouldn't watch it. Again, if you really want more, read the manga.

To Be Hero:A show screwed over by being unfortunate enough to release in the shadow of One Punch Man, which had a somewhat similar premise and, admittedly, did it better. Don't let that fool you, however - this show is hilarious, in ways that One Punch Man avoids... which is to say, To Be Hero is vulgar as hell. Seriously, they go places with the humor in this show that I did not expect them to, but that I definitely appreciated when they did. There's not much else to say beyond that - this show is really stupid, really funny, and really dirty. Highly recommend if you're looking for something relatively short (which the episodes are) that will make you laugh. Fans of Problems With Dating the RWBY Girls will likely find this right up their alley.

Rokka No Yuusha:Recommending solely because this belongs to a genre that is, for all intents and purposes, dead in the modern age. Rokka No Yuusha starts off like a generic fantasy anime, to the point that most people will probably be turned off based on just how generic it is... but without spoiling too much, a few episodes in, it undergoes a massive genre shift, and becomes something completely different. I can't say too much without ruining the surprise, but trust me when I say that you will not expect where this 'generic fantasy anime' goes. Let's just say that I wasn't kidding when I said that the genre this belongs to (that is, its 'real' genre) is one that is basically dead in the modern age, and that it might be worth your time based on that alone.

Mardock Scramble:Kind of cheating with this one, since it's not an anime as much as it is a series of three films. Still, these are very well-done films, exploring the weirder side of cyberpunk. Like, seriously, these movies get weird. The relationship between the protagonists is really sweet though, especially given their backstories. The story itself, again, is weird, being a revenge story with a cyberpunk coat of paint, but the primary antagonist helps keep things fresh. The action scenes are also very enjoyable. If you're a fan of cyberpunk, this is one to look at. Also, all the characters are named after different kinds of egg dishes (yes, really. Look it up).

Sword Of The Stranger:Is this really underrated? Pretty sure everyone knows about it... or, rather, that one scene from it. Sure, that's the highlight, but did you guys know that there's an entire movie around that scene, and that that scene is just the climax? Like, seriously, the rest of the film is actually pretty good. The music is excellent, the fight scenes are stellar, the animation is fantastic, the relationship between the characters is very well-done, and the ending is... open to interpretation, but in a good way. If you're in the mood to watch some damn good fight scenes, then this is for you.

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade:A movie that's made famous by the iconic armor the Kerberos Cops wear (fun fact: this armor directly inspired the armor that the Helghast soldiers wear in the Killzone series. The more you know), but that is sadly underrated as an actual film. This movie is fantastic. It has everything - compelling characters, a solid narrative, an interesting take on an alt-history setting, and good action. Most importantly, the sound design is some of the best I've heard in any movie, animated or otherwise. Like, seriously, there's a scene where a character punches a window in order to break into a building, and you can actually hear the broken glass softly crunch under his feet as he steps inside. As if that's not enough, there's another scene where a character creates a distraction by stealing a submachine gun, wrapping it in a suit jacket to muffle the noise of dropping it, and then throwing it down a flight of stairs to make it go off on its own (which can actually happen with certain variants of open-bolt submachine guns, such as the one he does it with. Again, the more you know). Now that's attention to detail. About the only places the sound design falls short are punches (which sound like the same generic movie punch sound effect) and explosions (which sound like the same generic movie explosion sound effect). Besides that, everything about the sound design is sublime. This movie is worth watching for the sound design alone, but don't let that fool you - there's actually a damn good film there in addition to that.

Cromartie High School:Again, another show that isn't talked about all that much anymore, but the people who do talk about it tend to love it to pieces. This show is hilarious; easily the funniest anime I've ever seen by far. There are a few weak episodes (episode 2, for example, plus another one that's slipped my mind) but twenty-four out of twenty-six ain't bad, especially for a comedy. This show has it all - absurdity, surrealism, stupidity, and a recurring character that is very blatantly just Freddie Mercury (yes, that Freddie Mercury - as in, the guy from Queen) riding a horse. Yes, really. Seriously, just watch it. You won't regret it in the slightest.

Bokurano:Take Neon Genesis Evangelion and turn the depression up to 11, and you've basically got Bokurano. This show is essentially the anime equivalent of being strapped into a chair and having a very large man break every bone in your body with a baseball bat, starting from your feet and working his way up. I'm recommending it because it managed to depress me in a way that I haven't been since I saw Come And See, and any piece of work that manages to get a reaction that visceral from me is worthy of some recognition, in my eyes. Give this one a shot if you like giant robots, enjoy watching kids get killed, and think Puella Magi Madoka Magica was too happy and upbeat for you to enjoy.

And that's about it for my recs. If you have any you think I should take a look at, please let me know - my time is limited these days, but if I have any free time, I would like to give them a look. My one request is that any recommendations you give me be, you know, at least something I would have had a chance of not seeing - I'd rather not be inundated by a bunch of recommendations to check out Naruto, Bleach, or Dragonball Z.

Yang wasn't used to leadership, but she wasn't going to accept Ozpin's suggestion of mandatory rest either. Not when it meant losing her spot on Team RWBY. Too bad no one told her the VSPR was made up of Vale's worst criminals, many of which she knew by name.
