Only Coulson's team is able to help him and they have yet to decide if they want to save a branded traitor.

Starts up from 2.3 'Making Friends and Influencing People' with a twist of Fitz and Ward's scene playing out. What if Ward developed a more active role in the show? What if that role happened to involve heinous amounts of guilt over Fitz and a little extra degree of things? Written as I watch Season 2 so expect hardcore canon divergence as I go. It is no secret that Ward has always been his own worst enemy. Can he accept that he has followed the wrong man and made the wrong choices? After Hydra tries to cross him off in prison, Ward has to face his old team members again. He needs to decide if he truly wants a second chance, especially when it means to finally close the door to the past he had with Garrett.

Fireflies: A seemingly mundane investigation into some missing archeologists turns into a search for the cause of a mysterious illness. And who or what are the "fireflies"? Aftermath: Ward discovers that there are different kinds of strong. Somewhat Skyward; lots of angst, whump, and h/c with a healthy dose of mystery.

After they crash in the Canadian mountains, Ward must get an injured Skye to Providence. The fact that he is an enemy of SHIELD is of little importance in the face of hypothermia threatening to set in.

When you come from hell, it's hard to believe you deserve anything better. And when you've carried secrets alone for so long, it's damn near impossible to believe that there's anyone out there who could share your burden. The team's journey, from Ward's perspective. I believe in Grant Ward, and I believe there is hope at the end of the story.

Faced with the task of killing the only goodness in his life just to prove loyalty, Grant Ward surrenders to the team. Can he earn back their trust and respect or will he forever be labeled a traitor? Has he lost the only good thing in his life because of his actions or can he gain Skye back? This is my explanation for the end of Turn, Turn, Turn, and what I believe could happen next. What if Garrett found a way to control Ward, and not only him, but another agent of Coulson's team? And what if this method of control was developed by one of them, a long time ago? Can the rest of the team delay the battle with HYDRA by saving their friends?

A despondent Coulson is lacking in holiday spirit as the clock on his desk counts down the minutes to Christmas morning. Feeling bereft and without purpose, he's given the chance to see how each member of his team's life would be different on Christmas morning if he hadn't brought them together.

Ward needs Skye to understand what really happened that night.
