There is no such thing as an immoral book. - Oscar Wilde Humankind cannot stand very much reality. - T. S. Eliot Go here to read fanfics by my favourite person ever. They're better than mine, I'll tell you that much. Go here to request a fanfic from me (I'm always happy to meet requests, especially if they're short, on pairings I like or in fandoms I love) A word about my writing: what you will find here and what you won't. What you will: Angst and death. Considering around half my stories center almost exclusively on the fall out after the end of Death Note, this should be fairly unsurprising. When I say death, I don't mean 'characters usually die', but I do mean 'characters spend a lot of time considering death, dealing with death or in rare circumstances, preparing for death'. Redemption. I am the world's biggest sucker for a good redemption story. As much angst as I put into my stories, I almost always balance it out with redemption, realisation, personal growth etc. etc. I am also super into religious imagery, so you'll see that creep in there a lot too. Slash and het. I write, and enjoy writing, both. I tend towards unusual pairings, I'm a fool for Manic Pixie Dream Girls, and if someone shows me an awkward nerd or gruff older gent, I find it hard to resist pairing them up. But the key feature for me in a pairing is dynamic. If I cannot understand a pairing dynamic, I am unlikely to write it except on request. I prefer het simply because most characters are canonically straight. Unless I think there's room for interpretation with a character's sexuality, or I feel like the pairing is a case of 'made for each other regardless of gender', I won't gratuitously make characters gay. Spoilers. I prefer to read or watch every available installment or episode before writing fanfic. This isn't always the case, but I try to make sure it is so I can get my characterisations correct. There will be spoilers and there won't always be warnings. Be aware of that whenever you read my stories. What you won't: Fluff. I don't enjoy it. I don't read it, and I don't write it. Don't get me wrong, I think fluff is great. I just find that given the types of characters I tend to gravitate towards writing, and the type of fandoms I tend to write in, it feels grossly out of character and a tad ridiculous. I've come across some great fluff in my time and can probably help you find some if you're looking, bu my first comment on that point will be "not here". PWP. Unless sex serves a purpose in my story, it doesn't go in it. I tend away from graphic sex scenes, and I focus more on the emotional or psychological ramifications than the act itself. I am sorry to inform you that this makes for some very unsexy sex scenes. Sex is a part of life, but I'm not going to write a sex scene with no plot-purpose anymore than I'm going to write a scene where Matsuda has to decide between chicken or beef for dinner and nothing else happens ever. OC Romances. I have chosen to write fanfiction because I want to write about the characters that already exist. If I want to invent my own characters, I'll go and work on my original stuff. Occasionally, a situation will crop up where OCs are necessary for a plot. Occassionally, these OCs may show romantic interest in an existing character. This will always be in order to advance the plot or develop the character. I can promise you now that you will never see a story from me where the sole purpose is an existing character hooking up with an OC for the sake of true love.
