![]() Author has written 17 stories for Death Note. Helllloooooo all my awesome readers!! Hmmm, what to write for a profile. Well, I guess I'll just tell you a little about myself and what I'm doing. I am a medical secretary, married with 4 children. I have a major love for the world of anime, and regular animation. I love Disney as much as I love Japanese anime. I was introduced to it with Sailor Moon and Pokemon and have continued right up to the newer worlds of Attack on Titan and others. I have a major love for Inuyasha and Ed Elric!! After being introduced to Death Note, I found myself completely and totally in love with it. And especially with a certain detective. I needn't tell you I was horrified by what happened to him in the story, and I spend most of my time ignoring the canon. Someone introduced me to the fan fiction here, and then to the world of yaoi and LightxL. At first I simply couldn't understand how anyone could see a relationship between the victim and the man who murdered him, and then I started paying attention to the time when Light lost his memory, watching the true Light Yagami instead of Kira. Of the way things could have been. And I saw how it could be possible. And I fell in love with the idea. And now, pretty much the only thing I will read are yaoi Light x L, or L x Light. And only the ones that end well. I have been scared by some of the ones that end sadly, I don't see the point. If you want a sad ending for the both of them, stick with the anime. Why give them a love to share only to tear it apart and kill them both anyway? If you're going to give them love, then give them a way to enjoy it and live. My first story, however, wasn't one of those, it's called "Always There" and is technically the Death Note story told more from the point of view of the Wammy boys and an OC (don't groan, believe me I dislike the OC's I've read that are perfect and simply silly self placement that don't work and are annoying) but I worked very hard to make sure this character is not that, she isn't perfect, the perfect love for L, or the perfect helper to solve the Kira case (groan..seen those). She is a doctor who has become the house physician for The Wammy House who L eventually enlists to help him keep up with his heirs, especially when he's off on cases. I will admit that there are a couple of things I have her do that I wish had been done in the story, (like punching Roger..LOL) and making sure L isn't buried in an unmarked grave somewhere in Japan but that's the only thing that she does that has anything to do with the original story. She's more of a frame that you see that side of the story happening through, so I hope you'll give it a try. That will be the only cannon type story I will write, I just wanted to tie some lose ends that bothered me in the story, but everything else I write is only LxLight...orLightxL...depending on who's on top at the time!! Some people don't understand how a pairing of L and Light could possibly work, as it was rather obvious they held no great love for each other during the series. Well, here is how I see it. Both L and Light are similar in their personalities; both brilliant, both never having a normal childhood, neither really feeling they truly belong with others if only because it's tedius always having to talk down so people understand you. Although Light's life seems normal (mom, dad, sister) his life is filled with nothing but schooling and constantly proving he's the best. Except for interaction with Sayu with her homework, you don't see ANY kind of close knit family relations. L has only Watari as both father figure and assistant and has lived his life alone and almost total seclusion. I believe their attraction would have happened mentally first; both enjoying being able to find someone they could relate to in intelligence. I also see the attraction happening when Light lost his memories of being Kira and put his guard down in not watching every word he said. They were chained together 24/7 and we never see what their living arrangements were like. I am sure there were times when it was just the two of them, and as cautious as L would have been, there has to be a part of him that yearned for someone who was on the same level as he was, and he found in Light and vice versa. Of course thinking that they're both gay is a flying leap...but watching how Light deals with girls from Takada in college to Misa...he seems to not have any true feelings for them at all and has no real interest in dating. He is also so fastidious in his dress, has some effeminate features (notice how he crosses his legs?) and just sometimes gives off that vibe to me, my humble opinion of course. And L...I don't think he really thinks about relationships, male or female or has had the time or opportunity to even try one. He does seem to be slightly floored by Misa's kiss at one point but I'm not sure whether that was real or not, it certainly could be, who knows how often, or if ever, that boy ever got kissed? So I would think his attraction would be mentally first, intelligence first, and he wouldn't care what the package was that it came in, male or female. Of course Light certainly is easy to look at so that wouldn't be a problem...LOL. So I just imagined one moment, one single moment when for whatever reason L dropped his guard and they actually saw each other for what they were. It could happen...LOL. So hopefully I can continue to add to the list of loving stories of Light and L, and perhaps other ideas along the way and hope I can also entertain a few people as well. Thank you for giving my stories a look, and please review, critique, tell me what you think pro or con and I promise I will get back to you. Dotti P.S. I'm also on Deviant Art if you're interested at all and want to drop me a word there!! http:/// |
