Hello!

Update as of 22/12/17: I've given up writing fanfiction and started on an original story. FF doesn't like hyperlinks to other sites, but you can find it if you Google for Mark Norrish Royal Road. Sorry for anyone who liked my fanfics, but I just couldn't stay motivated.

Update as of 18/5/17: Time to give up the ghost, I'm never finishing Milk. Turns out I actually burn out fairly hard with sufficiently dark stories. Lesson learnt.

I'm a twenty-odd-year-old Australian; I've been writing HP fanfic since May of 2013, although I was called Two Four Twelve until that Halloween.

I prefer polyphonic adventure stories like canon; my debut story Honey was theoretically written in that tradition, although I guess in hindsight it's rather darker. I usually write the same sort of thing I like reading; the one-shots were for a competition.

Credit to my lovely beta, trollnexus, who's proofed Milk, Ephemeron, Temporitis, Microcosm, and Interloper. Sorry if I've missed anything. (Also sorry if you'd prefer I put this in each story; I'm worried that that might clutter things up. No-one likes reading author's notes.) On a related note: whenever anyone finds a SPaG error in any of my work, could they please point it out to me in a PM? This goes for plot holes too, but obviously only in finished works.

In theory, my OTP is Harmony, but that only applies to the very best stories. It's natural to pair the leading man and lady, two best friends, so if it's done right it's sweet and feels very natural. If it's done badly (and it usually is: Sturgeon's Law), though, it tends to be saccharine, dull, and forced. I also like Draco/Ginny. I'll read anything, though, except Harry/Ginny or Heron, both of which were ruined for me by canon.

Speaking of which, if ever it seems like I'm bashing Ron, I'm not. (Well, I'm trying not to, at any rate. Bashing is so tacky.) It's just that his canonical best moments felt contrived enough that I can never think how to mimic them. I can't very well have the heroes have to get past another giant chessboard, and it's not as though he can speak Parseltongue.

If you like any of my stories, I'd appreciate a review, but if you can't think of anything to say - and I understand if you can't, because I never can either - then I also appreciate being favourited. It's nice to know how much people like what I write, and it also lets other readers know which of my stories are better than others.

My one-shots were all written for the QLFC. As this was a competition with deadlines and some rather peculiar constraints, they're not all my best work. I'm keeping them all up for completeness' sake, but the only ones I'm really happy with are Decommission, Ephemeron, and Time on my Side; if you read any of them, read those. I'm also mostly happy with ex nihilo, No need for words, and Vocabulary Woes, and Emily Rye and Two Days Before scored Judges' Picks (I and eleven other people wrote in each round, and the judge picked their favourite).
