LOOKING FOR BETA: I would love to have a beta for a fairly long FMA fic I've got in the works- this thing has been bouncing in my head for years and one of the only good things this freaking virus has brought about is the time and inclination to give Edward Elric lots and lots of grief, though I really don't want this to turn into another stinking "everyone DIES" story (cough For the Sake of His Life cough). Practical Stuff:

My updates are incredibly sporadic; for this reason, I try not to post if something is unfinished- case and point, 'After the Fact.' Most of my stories are oneshots, but there are a few that get extra chapters when I get inspiration for them. There are a few that bounce in my head on occasion. If you ever have suggestions for continuations, let me know via review or PM and I'll take a look. On reviews: I love constructive criticism. If you give me a flame, I'll just assume you need a hug, but if you have actual suggestions or thoughtful commentary I'd love to hear it.

My content tends to be deep and/or funny, but I'm not great at writing fight scenes.

Personal Stuff:

A lot of people hear 'fanfiction' and think that it's a lack of imagination or lame or whatever. I see it as a tool, like a template or a prompt. You can take it and work with the characters, the setting, or change just one thing and see an enormous impact on the plotline. You can do whatever you want- it frees you up from having to create it all, and gives you something to work with. My stories lean to the conservative end of the spectrum, and will almost never contain anything explicit, save a very little violence and injuries when the story is particularly demanding. I'm... frustratingly realistic in regards to my story construction. I take a scenario, and then I take the characters and find out how they react- which can take it in incredibly irritating directions. For the Sake of His Life? Yeah, that was supposed to be a BROTHERLY BONDING FIC. I am STILL TICKED OFF ABOUT THAT.

Fullmetal Alchemist/Avatar: The Last Airbender: When Ursa left the Fire Nation palace, she left the country changed her name, and remarried after a few years. She had two sons, and hid their firebending as well as she could, encouraging them to release the extra energy that would ordinarily go into bending through alchemy instead. Years later, Zuko sends Iroh to search for his mother in his place, because a Fire Lord doesn't get to go running off whenever he wants to. Iroh finds Edward and Alphonse shortly after the Promised day.

Rise of the Guardians: The Brother of Winter has been around for centuries, leading lost children in from the snow and taking abused children to new homes. The spirit of a boy who gave his life to rescue his little sister, Brother Jack is happy to help the kids who need him.
