Savvy? ;) I have written three 10-page essays on fan fiction as university work. I read the first HP book when I was 11 (I waited for an owl to come... alas, none came) and the books are a huge part of my life. I first visited Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross Station back in 2008 and then again in 2014 to see the new HP shop and Platform. I've also been to the Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour London and my dream is to one day visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando. UPDATE APRIL 2009: About Astoria Greengrass Ever since JK Rowling revealed the family trees Astoria Greengrass has intrigued me. Who is she? Which House was she in? How did she meet Draco? Did they marry for love? All we know about her is that she's Daphne's younger sister and that she's two years younger than Daphne and Draco. Personally, I believe that after the War the Malfoys would have wanted to keep a low profile and the best match for Draco would have been a pure-blood witch who was discreet and had a good head on her shoulders. That's why in my fics I'm making Astoria a Ravenclaw. Draco wouldn't have married some bimbo to be a trophy wife, he would have wanted an intelligent person to talk to and someone who hadn't been in direct and frequent contact with the smug, obnoxious brat he was in school (like the Gryffindors and, to some extent, the Hufflepuffs) because otherwise she wouldn't have given him a chance. And that brings me to another point. The Astoria I see in my head married him for love because no amount of money would have been enough to erase the social stigma of being married to a former Death Eater. No wonder they seemed so isolated during that small part in the Epilogue; in the new world order the Malfoys are not the "royalty" they once were. Either she was a greedy little bitca (any Buffy fans reading?) and didn't care, or she loved him enough to withstand the whispers and dirty looks. I see Astoria as a smart, sarcastic, strong and loving person. Physically, "my" Astoria looks like a cross between Elisabeth Harnois (Morgan Brody on CSI) and Amanda Seyfried, but with blue eyes. "My" Daphne looks like a cross between Kristen Bell and Taylor Swift, but with green eyes. UPDATE DECEMBER 2012: I joined Pottermore and I got sorted into Ravenclaw, WOO HOO! If you want to add me as a friend this is my username: DraconisElm14008 UPDATE MAY 2015: As you can see I haven't posted anything in quite a long time. I still have plenty of ideas for my OTP Draco/Astoria but struggling with depression and adulthood issues has put a strain on my motivation for writing, though I remain an avid fanfic reader. Also I just noticed that I've been a member of this site for 11 years lol! |
