![]() Author has written 26 stories for Legend of Zelda, Mario, F-Zero, Earthbound, Fullmetal Alchemist, Kingdom Hearts, Disgaea, Sonic the Hedgehog, Valkyrie Profile, Xenoblade Chronicles, Fire Emblem, RWBY, and Octopath Traveler. I'm P.T. Piranha. I got my start on Lemmy's Land writing Mario stories, until I eventually found this site and enjoyed the opportunity to write for any work of fiction I wanted besides Mario. So I wrote a few things in the past, but in retrospect they kind of suck. And then the site came down hard with the whole 'no script format' thing for some forsaken reason. So I left, only returning to read on occasion. I spent the last three years on DeviantART, writing for whatever work I want in whatever format I want. But... something allured me back to this site. Maybe it was personal growth as a writer, maybe not. But the point is, I'm back and hopefully I can write something actually good this time around. From May 2016 to Winter of that year, I was a mod on a tumblr blog known as FE14 Drabbles. There, we wrote short, quick fanfics about Fire Emblem: Fates. There were quite a few of us writing and I liked to think we all had our own different touches. I was the mod named after Jakob. The blog has been defunct for quite a while, but should still exist. At the very least, my contributions are available on this site (and Ao3) under the title "Lost in Drabbles All Alone". Now I'm not really sure where I am with fanfic. I do have ideas, but lately other projects are taking my time. Including my own podcast, where I discuss a different video game (usually of the Nintendo persuasion) every week. Why not come in and have a listen if you have the time? These were written long ago, back before I became more in line with my current style. Kingdumb Hearts II - Finished. Enjoy. Sonic 2006: Dude, Where's His World? - Finished. I feel as though it's my best parody yet. It's Always Sunny on Bionis - Unfortunately canned. Xenoblade: The Lightning Round will carry its torch. Lost in Drabbles All Alone - Steady progress. I prefer the blog versions get a head start before posting them here and AO3. Blog has been inactive lately, so not much to do here. Gray Whirlpool - If my math is correct, I should finish the Birthright and Conquest routes at the end of the year, or at least the beginning of next year. After which, I'll take some time off to begin the Revelation branch. What drives me? I'm not doing any of this for reviews or views. While I do want people to see my work and leave reviews, that's not my sole motivation. I'm doing this because I like writing and it's fun. That said, if you do review, please make it a meaningful one, not just "lol best story evur". And if you hate my story, all I ask is that you're civil about it. Things I Like: Hobbies: Video Games, Drawing, Writing, watching things on Youtube, joking with my friends, reading (good) fan fiction, sometimes a nice walk, a little bit of Theatre. Favorite Genre of Fic: I appreciate all ends of the spectrum once in a while, but I myself prefer to write humorous stories. If you're sad and you can laugh, you're happy for at least a few seconds. Laughing usually means you're happy, and I like to make people laugh so they can feel happy. Favorite Genre of Music: Game soundtracks Favorite Game Series: Super Mario Bros. - Always Other Favorite Games/Series: Legend of Zelda, Super Smash Bros., Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts, Kirby, Fire Emblem 13-14, Drawn to Life, The World Ends With You, Lufia, Chrono Trigger/Cross, Pikmin, No More Heroes, MadWorld, Metal Gear, Valkyrie Profile, Persona 3-4 Favorite Video Game: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Personal Dos and Don'ts for writing fan fiction: Ultimately it's your own work and you should be doing it for fun. Not everyone will like what you write, and that's good. We shouldn't all have the exact same opinions. Different perspectives can come together and help people get a better understanding of everything. Sometimes it pays to listen to the dissenting comments. Responses are nice, they let a writer know how people are receiving their story. But to make your writing all about getting reviews? As in, that's your only goal, and you'd even hold your own story hostage? In that case, are you sure you really like writing? Or do you just like getting praise? Write because it's fun, write it because it's something you want to do, write it because you have an idea you want to share with the world, in the way that only you can. This is your creation, show some pride in it. You are the only one who was able to create this, you are a writer now. Amateur or professional, you've written a story. Don't berate yourself, don't tell me your summary is bad, be proud of what you've accomplished! That said, it is important to respect your audience. They are the ones receiving your creation. But do not pander to them, if it compromises your vision. I don't know the middle ground between writing for yourself and writing for your audience. It's just something we all have to figure out for ourselves. Oh, and please have good spelling and grammar. And start new paragraphs whenever a new person talks, it is beyond confusing when two dialogues share the same paragraph. Final Notes: I do not enjoy stopping a fan fiction and leaving it dead. However, all of my pre-2011 works will stay as they are. I'd like to not abandon any of my current fics either, but there are no guarantees in life. Things happen and interest wanes. That's all for now. |
