After being a member of for more than 9 years, I decided my profile needed a serious update.

If you're new to this profile, know that on I go by MarianneBrandon, but I am known elsewhere online as emjwriter (such as on DeviantArt) and EmSpeaks (at my regular blog, Em Speaks). I'm a professional writer who writes for e-newsletters, but my fanfics are labors of love and fun. I am also the self-published author of one novel, Radicals and Royalists, a historical work set in 1793 England that you can buy in paperback or Kindle.

My fanfics have included the Avengers and Thor films, The Phantom of the Opera, Sense & Sensibility, Doctor Who, American Girls, and Frozen. Not all of them are available on here anymore. If you are new, here are the stories that are technically still in the works:

For a variety of reasons, I deleted my Phantom fic and its sequel, and my would-be S&S fic, "Mistress of Delaford." After starting MoD, I learned that there was a published "sequel" to Sense and Sensibility that has so many similarities to my fic that it seemed hardly worthwhile to continue. The two Phantom fics were my first completed stories and, although they have special places in my hearts, they are nine years old and a little too embarrassing to keep.

I also co-wrote a fanfic for The Witch of Blackbird Pond that is published under the profile love-the-boots
