Author has written 32 stories for Harry Potter, Naruto, Game of Thrones, and Honor Harrington. My new mystery/science fiction series looks 100 years into the future at a bounty hunter called Greenvine Graves. The world he lives in is a lot different from ours. Major crimes aren’t punished with a stay in a taxpayer-financed prison. No, crimes are punished with a loss of rights: liars get a year rightless, thieves a few months, murder makes one rightless for five years. You can read the free short story, Lucas the Lucky, that introduces the fascinating, brutal world, just visit my website, . Updated December 2018 X-X-X-X Frequently Asked Question(s) Why haven't you written a sequel to Will of Fire, Heart of Stone? I get this question a bit. Here's my answer: I wrote Will of Fire as a way to work through Sarutobi's choices early in Naruto's life. I decided to have the Third Hokage make different choices early on. I was just curious about what might happen. The bulk of Will of Fire is the results of what Sarutobi did along with a bit of Naruto and Jiraiya and a few other characters feeling the ramifications. When Sarutobi passed away, I considered the experiment done. Yes, I know there is a lot left for Naruto to learn and do, but I don't think I have enough interesting ideas to make a complete story of this. (Just a bunch of training sessions, some battles, and lots of scenes of planning for more warfare don't make for a kind of story I'd find fun to write - or read.) If I ever do figure out an angle to write this story my way, I might just give it a shot. Don't go holding your breath. Will I ever write the Dune sequel implied in the Wizard of Harrenhal? I don't plan to write a Harry Potter and Dune story. I think the idea is a lot of fun to consider, but I suspect trying to get a story out of it would be very unfulfilling. |
