![]() Author has written 13 stories for Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, Justice League, and Dragon Age. Hello, Most frequently, I go by the name Lyra on the internet. I have a university degree in English and History, which has contributed to polishing to an epic shine my natural inclination to analyse and find meanings that lie beyond the surface. I’m very open minded and curious, and I love hearing new ideas. I'm also an ESL teacher. Sil-me-linde. My penname comes from a poorly put together Elvish. Sil means a star (and Silmarillion - star light). Lindir means a bard, another words a story teller. And so my penname incorporates both my love for the night sky, and my love for telling stories and listening to them. If you’re trying to get a quick grasp on my personality, I’m a typical INTP according to the Myers Briggs personality test. I’m a witty, sarcastic perfectionist, who also happens to be passionate, secretive and difficult to gain trust of, loyal, impatient when my time is wasted, and sometimes even told that I have a sense of humour. I’m highly logical. I put mind above the heart, though ironically enough I write a lot of romance fics, but you’ll find them more crammed with philosophy, mystery and adventure than lots of mooshy stuff. Romance is fiendishly difficult for me to write, and I'm about as cuddly as cactus when it comes to expressing my personal sentiments; which doesn't mean I don't have them, I just view them with a grain of salt. Consequently, if you’re wondering which one of my stories to read, I recommend the PotC fic, Taken but not Forgotten that has nothing to do with romance. My fandoms are Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Pirates of Caribbean, BBC Sherlock and a few Japanese anime. Currently, I’m focused on PotC. Although most of my fics are about Norrington, I’m a history major for a reason, thus I adore anything from the Age of Sailing: ships, swords, costumes and customs, fjkakhgwi, you get the point. The movies are like delicious eye candy for me, and I love to watch, daydream and sometimes transfer to paper my wild fantasies. |
