Author has written 6 stories for Star Wars. Well, I suppose I may as well say a little something about myself. A blank description is rather depressing, though I find myself at somewhat of a loss as to what I should say. I'm much more a reader than a writer, and originally created this account to leave reviews to stories I've read and follow them for updates. Now I find myself, somewhat surprisingly, an author myself. If anyone is interested, my forte is more in the realm of music videos. I have a YouTube account under this same username and probably hold the record for 'Most Palpatine Tributes' on YouTube. Anyone want to challenge me for the title? Didn't think so: http://www.youtube.com/user/electricboa I've loved to read for years now, though I was not that big a fan when I was very young. The first two books that really interested me in reading were actually both Star Wars books, fitting seeing as I've read more books in that fandom than anything else. My first two were Star Wars: Tales of the Bounty Hunters, edited by Kevin J. Anderson, and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, written by Steve Perry. While they're not actually my favorite books in the series, they'll always have a special place in my heart for sparking me to start reading. Since then, I've read a lot more Star Wars books (a couple hundred in all, and more coming out every year), Sherlock Holmes, Lord of the Rings, Artemis Fowl, Deltora Quest, Keys to the Kingdom, and numerous stand-alone novels. If any of you recognize the titles, you've probably realized I'm mainly into Science Fiction and Fantasy, with a little Mystery on the side. I've been reading fan fiction stories for a while now, and I've found that I enjoy them as much as 'official' books. Sometimes even more so. They offer so many alternatives to canon stories, and there are writers on this site that really do such a good job. If anyone is interested in the covers I've made for stories here, as well other artwork like my YouTube thumbnails, I do have a DeviantArt account: I might talk a little about how I actually read the stories I review. I don't actually read them online. I really only started reading FanFiction after I got my eReader (originally a Nook, but now just a tablet using the CoolReader app) and I do pretty much all my reading there or on my computer. As to the stories I've written, I suppose I can give a little more details on them: Silk Strands - This was my first posted work. Originally intended to follow the Separatist offensive, Durge's Lance, during the Clone Wars, it's kind of has become my little sandbox for Palpatine/Sidious one-shots. It can be read as if it were finished, as the chapters are more or less independent. When I come up with a new one, I'll add it, but there is no real time frame for it. Housekeeping - The title comes from a line in Karen Miller's Wild Space novel. It was originally written shortly after seeing 'The Lawless' episode of the Clone Wars TV series. With the release of the Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir comic series, the second chapter is no longer canon compliant. It could probably be consolidated into Silk Strands, but I originally posted it as a separate work, so I'll keep it that way. Through Machiavellian Eyes - Another one that could fall under Silk Strands, but started out of an ambition to write existing scenes in movies, books, and other sources from Palpatine's perspective. Since then, I haven't really gotten around to do another one. Culmination - My longest work to date and first novel-length story. It's an AU from the Fate of the Jedi series, so reading that is pretty important to know who the characters are. I originally said there was the possibility of a sequel, but seeing as that was well over a year ago (as of when I'm writing this), I don't think it will happen. With the purge of the EU, there won't be any more books coming out in the Legends line. A lot of my drive to write the original came from reading the books. Without them, there's not much. I have a general outline and ideas, but having the framework and writing a story are two very different things. At least the first one was written in a way that can serve as a stand-alone story. What He Became - My take on an extended confrontation between Ahsoka and Vader at the end of Rebels Season 2. I gave them more dialogue and made Vader a lot more bitter (hateful, too). |
