I'm restarting my tumblr account. I have the same handle/screen name Spectre4hire. This will be take two for me and tumblr. I hope to be more active and engaged on it. If you have questions/comments/thoughts on my writing or my stories then please send them that way. Your participation will help me stick with it. I will try to use it to give updates on when you can expect one of my stories to be updated. As well as dropping previews and sneak peaks of future chapters. It will also be a place where I can discuss the plots/ideas/pairings that I didn't end up taking for my stories.

I suppose this second chance is what happens when the world is quarantined. I hope you and yours are staying safe.

More thoughts on Fanfiction:

Part of the reason why I write fanfiction is because I just don't have the dedication, time, creativity, genius to create something new and inspiring. With fanfiction, I am a child playing or in this case writing in a world created by literary giants. I'm traipsing in their carefully crafted world which they've sunk so much of their time into building.

Thank you for giving us such wonderful worlds, stories, and characters. I only write for fun and will never try to make money off the work of others. This is your world, but thanks for giving us a chance to stay in it a little while longer.

I want to give my thanks to all the talented authors on this site in all its fandoms who spend their time, effort, and energy to deliver us so many wonderful and compelling stories at no cost to us. I’ve spent countless days and nights consuming a treasure trove of amazing stories that deserve prominent places on my bookshelves.

I've found so many great stories on this site that deserve places among some of my other favorite works of fiction and non fiction. Your stories have often been the push or solace I needed when my own writing was filled with struggles or lulls. It was a balm and a treat to just sit back and consume so many creative and well written stories. I'm extremely grateful to the authors who have shared their amazing gifts with us for free. It really is incredible how much work and time they've invested into telling us these stories. We are very lucky. Thank you for entertaining me.

My writing:

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not that great of a writer. I still have a lot to learn. So thank you for your patience.

My writing style: The general focus of my stories are on the characters, their interactions, and exploring friendships/relationships.

-Characters first, coherent plot is like third or fourth.

I don't want to label my stories as simply one genre, b/c that's not true, but they do take inspiration from the Slice of Life style.

In my stories the plot will plod and sometimes outright pause for a chapter or a few. Sometimes you probably won't even able to recognize a coherent plot. Or it won't be addressed or it'll conclude in some anti-climatic way. I'm just going over all the possible scenarios that my stories can fall into to warn you.

My style/structure is terrible, but I've come to terms with it. I'm just here to have fun.

I'm not adhering to the proper or any good formula. I just go where the muse and interest takes me.

So if you're interested that's great and I'm honored you'd invest the time in my writing. If not I don't blame you and I wish you the best of luck in finding the stories you're looking for.

Fanfiction Appreciation: Ten Years

I'm amazed I've been on this site for nine years now. So much has changed in that time, my gratefulness for finding this site has never been stronger. I'm humbled by the feedback my stories have gotten in that time and thankful for the people I've encountered. It's always so great to talk characters, stories, and fandom with people who share a similar passion.

My stories: Completed:

Mass Effect-"Enter the Collectors"- My first foray onto this site. My take on Shepard entering the collectors' ship, inspiration for this story coming from James Cameron's classic "Aliens." Edits and revisions do need to be made to the story, I have also thought about re-releasing it with added chapters. So stay tuned.

Mass Effect- "Aftermath"- My take on what happens as soon as Shepard destroys the collector base. This is not a Mass Effect 3 story. There will be no Reaper wars in this story. It is my interpretation of how Shepard handles the next few months, as he tries to rally the galaxy against the Reaper threat.

Mass Effect- "I will Rise"- An AU story that has Commander Shepard and Miranda Lawson meeting during Mass Effect One when he is shutting down Cerberus Cells. Could this encounter affect the way Shepard sees not just Cerberus but the galaxy itself?

Mass Effect- "We Will Rise"- Sequel to "I will Rise." A loose novelization of Mass Effect 2.

Harry Potter-"A Chance Encounter"- AU: The story follows the simple premise of Harry meeting the Greengrass family at Kings Cross instead of the Weasleys. He becomes friends with Daphne, not Ron and how this simple encounter reshapes Harry's Hogwarts years.

A Song of Ice and Fire- Our Blades Are Sharp- AU: How would the War of the Five Kings go if the Boltons remained loyal to the Starks? Roose Bolton's true born son and heir, Domeric Bolton is alive and befriends Robb and the Stark Family.

A Song of Ice and Fire- Our Blades Are Sharp 2: The Red Reign- The sequel to 'Our Blades Are Sharp.'

A Song of Ice and Fire- A Dragon's Roar- AU: Daeron the Young Dragon conquered Dorne, Daeron the Good peacefully united the Seven Kingdoms, Daeron Targarayen, the second son of King Aerys, younger brother to the Crown Prince Rhaegar will leave his own mark on Westeros that will have him be remembered as Daeron the Defiant.

Dragon Age- "War of the Laurels"- AU: Game of Thrones inspired. Focuses on the Fereldan Civil War through various perspectives. Cousland is not a Warden, but a rebel who leads the resistance against Loghain and Howe. This is not an DA: Origins novelization. Main POV's: Edmund, Oren, Howe, and Anora. Minor POV's: Fergus, Sgt. Kylon, Ser Cauthrien, Bann Loren, Bann Teagan, Lady Alfstanna, The Warden, The Queen.

Harry Potter- "The Slytherin Reformation"- Sequel to "A Chance Encounter." Follows Harry and friends during their third year of Hogwarts.
