![]() Author has written 4 stories for Naruto. Facebook : Camille Hillcrest Tumblr : But break, my heart; for I must hold my tongue. About me : I'm a French sci-fi, history and literature enthusiast. I write, travel, read a lot and dream of being an adventurer-historian-soldier screenwriter. About my writings : I lived in Dublin for a year and read most of my books in English. I've always read english fanfiction, since you DON'T want to try french fandoms, trust me. There's no Doctor Who and no Sherlock, and the newbies are as bad as everywhere else. Though, my English is far from perfect, I am so looking for a beta to give a more "genuine" feeling to what I write, and kick me for all the grammar mistakes. I learn faster when injured. I study a lot and am a slow writer (about 2 hours for 1000 words), even slower in a foreign language, so you won't have much job, sadly (or happily) for you. What I read : - Fandoms : I've read mostly Harry Potter, Sherlock and Star Trek fanfics. You can sometimes come across me in Sherlock Holmes, Criminal Minds, Iron Man and X-Men sections, but these three shall remain my favorites. I've never found such quality jobs out there. - Books : Well, like everyone else, I enjoyed Harry Potter and His Dark Materials (I've actually met Philip Pullman though friends, he's a lovely man), but I'm a genuine fantasy and sci-fi fan. I love Robin Hobb, whose books I've read maybe five or six times since I was fourteen, GRR Martin for his spot-on characters and sense of politics, Greg Keyes for the vegetal dampness of imagination, Guy Gavriel Kay (except Fionavar, which was rubbish to me), Lynn Flewelling, Dan Simmons, Neil Gaiman, Lian Hearn, Roger Zelazny... I'm a great admirer of Annie Proulx, Jim Harrison and Colum McCann's works. I'm kind of an old-school girl, so I've read a lot of classics, which remain the utlimate works of reference to me : Shakespeare and his poetry, of course, Emily Brontë, Salinger, Churchill, Rimbaud, Wilde, Marguerite Yourcenar, Flaubert, Zola, Kipling (As a child, I read Just So Stories every night for over ten years), Camus, Malraux... |
