Ever since she could write she's been... different!

She never listens, she has the attention span of a sparrow, people tell her to work and she starts... starts daydreaming about dragons!

Dragons exist! They steal your time, but never show up in person. What's with that?

About me as a writer

I am a friendshipper, through and through. I like a bit of romance, but am totally crap when I try to write it. It ends up just being friendly. I love relationships that are completely and totally based on the (platonic) love people (or dragons :P) can have for each other, so parent/child, sibling/sibling, mentor/student, friend/friend, etc. You get the idea. So if you're hoping for gushy, angsty, romance-y stories, I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place. Any romance will likely be background at best.

As for the type of story I like to write, anything goes, but it's usually action and dialogue packed. My favorite things to write are canon-deviants, or AUs. It's so much fun to imagine how the story would have been different with one littler change, a bunch of little changes, or a big huge one, etc.

My biggest fandom currently is How to Train Your Dragon (Toooooooothleeeeesss). I have seen that movie so many times. Percy Jackson, Merlin, Stargate Atlantis, an Marvel Cinemtaic Universe are my secondary (but still greatly loved) fandoms, and I tend to dabble (i.e. waste time) in a bunch of others.

I also suffer from a serious mental problem where I have way too many story ideas and not enough time to write them all!!!

One last thing. I am working on my own original novels now so updates will be pretty scarce. Hopefully they'll still be there, I love you guys, but fanfiction has become a bit of a side thing since these novels are really important to me.

Preferences

1. First and foremost, I'm a firm believer in hugs. Lots of hugs. All the time. HUGS!

2. My other interests in stories... What I value a lot is humor. When It makes me laugh it's worth reading/watching again. It doesn't necessarily have to be a laugh though, it can be a smile. :) That being said I enjoy tons of angst and hurt/comfort as well. Make me cry, guys.

3. Next on my list, I enjoy a tiny bit of romance but anything beyond a kiss is too much for me. Personally, I enjoy less in that area. And slash/yaoi is seriously not my cup of tea so, no.

4. Like I said earlier, AUs and canon-divergent stories are tons of fun, if they're done right of course.

5. Lastly, I like unexpected surprises... which is a bit of a given. Seriously, who doesn't love irony? Who can not love irony!?

Things that seriously annoy me

1. Fics that are literally painful to read because they're so OOC and grammatically wrong. I honestly never thought it was possible to hurt from reading bad writing. I stand corrected. If you don't care about your grammar and characterization (and tell people that if they can't handle it they're snooty), then I really don't care about your story.

2. When I'm looking through stories and the summary says something like, "I really suck at summaries." Seriously people summaries are important! I don't care if you suck at summaries get someone to help. FF is composed of a lot of friendly people, including myself. Ask for help, please! And if you can't, just use a quote from your story, it works! Honestly, if the summary doesn't catch a potential reader's eye, even a really good story can get overlooked.

4. On that note: when people promise me that the story is better than the summary. Well, that story doesn't have much to live up to if that's all it needs to beat. I mean really, it sounds desperate and lazy. It is not a reason for me to read the story. I actually don't ever read stories that have that in the summary. I can't recall doing that ever.

3. One of the most important things is that I absolutely loathe reading a Mary Sue or a Marty Stu. Some original characters are awesome but others, whom I will not mention, kill me to read. They are too perfect to be real, and often overshadow the beautifully flawed canon characters. In the (paraphrased) words of Mark Twain, "You just wish they would all drown together!"

4. I don't think bad language is extremely terrible, however, it annoys me when a character or the narrative is cursing every third word because the author thinks it's cool. It tends to distract me from the rest of an otherwise well-written story.

5. K stories that should be rated M. Honestly, K means kindergarten through tweens. If these people would truly let an seven year-old read those...

6. Author's notes in the middle of the story. Sadness. Honestly, it's like that annoying sibling* giving running commentary and no matter how often you ask they won't shut up! They are distracting and only detract from the story.

Use an asterisk if you must.

7. Amazing and abandoned WIPs. I've been scarred, they were so beau-

8. When people don't put character tags on their story because they don't want to give anything away. I understand the thinking behind it, I used to think that would be cool. But why are there character tags? So that people can read about their favorite character. So what's the result? a) Someone who would've read it had there been a character tag skips over it and misses out on another potential enjoyment of the character. b) Someone who wouldn't have read it had there been a character tag is bored to death and/or stops halfway. c) Someone skips over it because there isn't enough information to capture their interest and they move on to a story with a better summary and character tags.

9. The issue of the word bemused. It means 'confused' not 'amused'! I've come across this so many times it isn't funny!

10. This one makes me cry how often this happens. "Definitely" is NOT spelled "defiantly"

11. When people flame opinions, here or elsewhere. It's an opinion, guys, and everyone is allowed to have a different one. I'm looking at you, die-hard shippers. Please, guys, be respectful. There is absolutely no need to try to make someone feel like dirt for something so subjective as a favorite pairing, favorite movie, favorite fandom, favorite song or whatever. Usually it's a matter of taste, not fact. So please, please, please, be kind. Constructive critism is good, but flames are not.

Okay, I'm done whining. Last but not least, I am a Christian and proud to be the kind of person who reflects God's unending and unconditional Love (not His Judgement, that's not in my job description).
