C.D. Wofford, that's my name. I am a descendant of a rich Irish and English heritage, hence my name, which in the Irish means "a dark river running through a dark wood" or "Dark Challenger". I aspire to live up to my name as a challenger of darkness, rather than a challenger that is dark. ;D The British meaning is "Flowering and Courageous One", which is a bit lighter.

Ever since I was a wee lass I have been drawn to the wonder of a good tale. Stories have taught me, moved me, stirred my heart like magic. Tolkien's "The Hobbit" was my first love, followed several years later by "The Lord of the Rings" and Doyle's "Sherlock Holmes".

In fact, story has become a major factor of who I am, so much so that I am writing two novels at the moment; one set on the high seas during the Golden Age of Piracy, the other a contemporary thriller. I hope to publish with Marcher Lord Press.

Writing fanfiction is something I love doing, though I am relatively new at it, and it's a way I can spend more time with the characters that are always with me, anyway. Mostly I've written stories for the BBC SHERLOCK fandom and Peter Jackson's The Hobbit movies, but I'm in the midst of an Avengers crossover and I'm thinking of branching out some more soon and maybe trying my hand at Pirates of the Caribbean or How to Train Your Dragon. And maybe even Liberty Kids, but who even knows what that is anymore, right?

I'm also super excited about the prospect of writing some The Dark Crystal stories. That movie was a special part of my childhood; it was the first movie my Dad went to the theater to see by himself growing up, and when I was born my grandmother said, "She looks like a gelfling". Since then gelfling has been her special name for me, and it's gotta be my favorite pet-name. They're so beautiful and graceful and magical! Sorry, I just have to take a minute and have a fan-girl fit. :D Anyway, that's why my avatar is the gelfling Kira. If I could be any fictional character, I would choose her.

I am a Christian, and proud to be one. I believe the beauty of story and our love for it are gifts from God, and out of honor to Him I will not include any material in my stories which I believe would not be pleasing to Him. No language or ribald content will be found in my writing. I may write angsty, tense scenes at times and make frequent use of what the Motion Picture Association of America terms "thematic elements" and my writing-group calls "feelz", but my aim is for my contributions to fanfiction to be safe and enjoyable for everyone. :)
