Author has written 12 stories for Fullmetal Alchemist, One Piece, Harry Potter, and Doctor Who. Hello, world! :D Name: Colordrifter. Drifter for short. Gender: female Age: Old enough Fandoms I'm currently in: One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, Lord of the Rings/The Silmarillion, BBC Sherlock, Doctor Who, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Good Omens, Supernatural, Welcome to Night Vale AO3: /users/colordrifter September 2014: At this point in time, I have more or less moved my entire fannish life to Tumblr and AO3. I occasionally still poke my head back here to catch up with old writers I adore and to revisit favorite fics, but that's mostly it. Almost all my fic are now on AO3, including newer ones that are not posted here. I've moved fandoms a few times in the past year or two; consequently, I'm much less active in most of my anime/manga fandoms now, which was the main focus of this account (although I still read One Piece religiously every week and it is still my favorite thing ever). I'm also writing a lot less, being swamped by schoolwork and real life. But if I ever write anything for One Piece ever again, I'll definitely post it here. For old time's sake. So! If you want to keep in touch, you can definitely find me on Tumblr or on AO3. Or you can PM here; I promise I'll reply. Otherwise, happy reading! I am, first and foremost, a reader. And then a dreamer. And then a writer. So while I suffer from chronic plot bunny attacks, it takes a long time for me to put pen to paper. That's why I like to write oneshots because I can do SO MUCH with them and not have it take me forever to finish it! And I'd love to write a multi-chapter story, but I'd have to complete the story before posting just to make sure there's an ending. I feel so let down when a great story is dropped halfway because the author doesn't have time to finish it. Wouldn't want to disappoint my readers. My writing genres vary, but I like to stick with canon. I also love minor characters, because they just don't get enough love. Sometimes it's the minor characters that affect the story the most. I'm not really a pairings person (although that is starting to change...slightly), mostly because some books about sparkly vampires ruined the story concept for me and turned romance into mindless obsession. I generally prefer nakamaship/family stories. So most (if not all) my stories will be Gen-fics. I'm up for all the other genres: action, humor, adventure, angst, horror, h/c... As a general rule, I don't read or write yaoi, yuri, or slash. I have absolutely nothing against gay people, but some of the more creative pairings are a little too far-fetched for me. If those people aren't together in canon, then they should stay that way. Personal preference, 'tis all. Although I've only been actively writing fic for about two years, I think I've made some improvements. So some of my earlier stories are definitely shaky and the characters are a little OOC. I don't want to make any major edits to them or delete them because I like having a benchmark of seeing how much I've improved. But I still cringe a little when I reread them. Just a warning! ;) |
