I am an English literature and film studies graduate from Aberdeen University, currently working as a school teacher. I am a great fan of books and films, particularly the Harry Potter series, Watership Down and The Secret of NIMH, among others. When I discovered fanfiction.net, I was presented with this golden opportunity to take part in writing and sharing alternate stories with other fans of my favourite works. It encouraged me to start writing my own fanfics. Also RogueFanKC is a frequent reviewer of my WD stories, which keeps my stories going to this day. The Cross Bearer is highly recommended for any WD fan! The Lion King; Into the Pride trilogy by Kurt Wylde 42: My favourite Lion King fanfic series. Inspired me to start my own LK series. Kurt Wylde 42 is also another key reviewer of my work. His stories are well worth a read by any LK fan! My characters (warning: spoilers!): Dr Alan Johnson: A professor of biology and retired Marine for the Royal Armed Forces, left depressed and without any further purpose in life after the brutal murder of his wife and daughter, who is given a second chance at life when he meets the rabbits of Watership Down, the lagomorphs of the future Earth. Captain Harry Van Owen: A former surgeon, turned-Captain in the British Army during the First World War. Twin brother of Professor Richard Van Owen, the original discoverer of the Lion's Plateau, who mysteriously disappeared while exploring the Pride Lands in 1913. Is appointed royal guardian to Simba. Captain Josh Anderson: A veteran Royal Navy fighter pilot recruited by NIMH Corporations for the first manned interstellar mission in 2069. Served as pod pilot and mission specialist on the Nimh-One spacecraft, under Commander Paul Fitzgibbons. Becomes the love interest of Elizabeth Brisby and royal Quaestor to King Nicodemus. Martin Park: A British foreign exchange student in Helsinki, Finland, plagued by the recent death of his father. After mysteriously awakening in the world of the Moomins, he is presented with the chance to find happiness again. Becomes a surrogate son to Moominpapa and Moominmama and a big brother to Moomintroll. Neil Coyle: An English village constable in the early 1970s. After being mowed down in a hit-and-run and awakening reincarnated as a rabbit, he attempts to bring human advances into the world of the rabbits, not realising he might be playing God with the world... Becomes the love interest of Violet, the niece of the Threarah of Sandleford Warren. Note: The above characters belong to me and may not be used in any other work without my prior consent! My current stories: Lagomorphic Reincarnation: Neil Coyle is an ordinary police officer until he suffers a fatal accident and awakes to find himself reincarnated in a rabbit's body. When he meets the Sandleford rabbits, he uses his advanced human know-how to help his new friends build a new home. But will Neil transforming the rabbit world into an advanced civilisation protect them from the evil General Woundwort, who wants Neil's powers for himself? And can he win the heart of a certain doe, who doesn't know her true love is in fact a reincarnated ithe? Inspired from Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. Watership Down The New World: One minute, drunken widower Dr Alan Johnson and his companions are on a survey flight over New Forest. The next, they are huddled forward through time to the 28th century, a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by giant talking rabbits just like described in the story of Watership Down. Armed with his familiarity of the story and his 21st century academic knowledge, Alan sets out to solve the riddle as to how the world in a storybook could have become reality, replacing the extinct mankind, which might mean confronting his own dark past, including the unknown murderer of his wife and daughter… (complete, proof-reading) Watership Down Tales of the New World: A mini-sequel to New World, including a collection of six chapter-length deleted scenes, plus an epilogue chapter set many years later where an aged Alan returns to London and reunites with Drake in his apartment, shortly before the Apocalypse, with news on the future. (complete, proof-reading) Watership Down Beyond the New World: In 2012 Jamie McEwan went looking for his missing father. His search takes him on a journey into the far future, where he finds a world of gigantic talking rabbits. Follow him on his adventures, as he tries to pick up his father's trail across an unfamiliar future earth... Meanwhile, four years after the battle of Efrafa, the rabbits of WD receive a mysterious visitor with the news that a new threat is lurking on the horizon, threatening the peace of their world... First sequel to New World. (in progress) The Lion King Pride of Humanity: In 1912 explorer Richard Van Owen went exploring deep in the Sahara Desert and disappeared. In 1917, his twin brother Captain Harry Van Owen of the British Army and his men escape from the Western Front by balloon and find themselves stranded on a mysterious plateau in the heart of the Sahara; a world of intelligent talking lions. When King Mufasa is assassinated, Harry finds himself the reluctant guardian of the banished Prince Simba. Can he help him reclaim his throne and punish the murderer of his father, who will stop at nothing to retain power, and find a way for him and his men to return to civilization...? Partly inspired by Jules Verne's Mysterious Island. (complete) NIMH Planet of the Rats: In the near future, the research starship NIMH-1 is sent to explore the star system of Alpha Centauri, to conduct terraforming experiments. When they encounter a mysterious storm-like vortex, space pilot Josh Anderson is sent to investigate. His pod vanishes into the vortex, only to crash-land onto a strange new planet on the other side, dominated by giant talking rats and mice, which view humans as a threat. Stranded and pursued by the ruthless General Jenner, he is taken in by the good-hearted widow mouse Mrs Brisby and her family. But Josh doesn't realise that it might be already too late for rescue and that his future probably lies here on this new world... Inspired by Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes. (in progress) Man in Moominland: One minute, university student Martin Park is running from a thunderstorm in downtown Helsinki. Lightning strikes him and he finds himself mysteriously transported to the magical world of the Moomins, as described in the Tove Jansson novels. Is he dead, in a coma, or just plain mad? And will he ever find a way of getting back to his own world? (in progress) My future stories (spoiler warning!): Watership Down Battle of The New World: One minute, Flight 571 is bound from Heathrow to New York; the next, the plane is catapulted through a mysterious vortex to an unfamiliar future Earth. Captain Paul Conondale, Flight attendant Constance Campbell and passenger Ratty Marcus are suddenly in charge of a group of human crash survivors from the 21st century, stranded in a hostile new world of giant talking rabbits. The Darkhaveners, the descendants of the warlord Hemlock's Owsla, led by the bloodthirsty King Fur-Rocious, will stop at nothing to destroy these unwelcome human invaders... Tie-in story to Beyond the New World. Third instalment in the series. (estimated release date 2020) Watership Down Dawn of the New World: In 2013, Neil Coyle is shot and falls into a deep coma; he awakens in 2041 in a deserted and ruinous London... Meanwhile, in 2799, Lucy Johnson, mourning the recent death of her father Alan, and her friends are invited on a journey back through the time warp. Stranded on a post-apocalyptic Earth, just before the rise of the lagomorphs, they are faced with the chance of changing the events of the past that will lead to the Lagomorph Dark Ages, by overthrowing the notorious Hemlock, the ancestor of Woundwort, before he can wage war on El-ahrairah and humanity. But another, unknown enemy in set on making sure they never succeed... Sequel to Beyond and final instalment in the Watership Down The New World series. (release date still to be announced) The Lion King Pride of Humanity II: Following the events in Pride of Humanity, Harry is living happily with his lion family on the plateau. But the peace in the Pride Lands is brought under threat with the arrival of a suspicious research expedition, who threaten to expose the plateau's secret, as well as the dark ambitions of Zira and the rest of Scar's exiled minions, who seek vengeance... Can the Pride survive the threat of the Outsiders and remain hidden from human civilisation? (est. release date 2018) The Lion King Pride of Humanity III: In 1997, Harry’s great-nephew is flying a mining shipment from Nairobi to Algiers. After crash-landing his freighter in a sandstorm over the desert, he finds himself stranded on a mysterious plateau, inhabited by talking lions, similar to the stories surrounding his great uncle. While struggling to construct a new aircraft out of the wreckage of the old, he sets out to restore peace between the Pride Lands ruled by an old, ineffective king, and a pride of threatening, savage rogues ruled by a bloodthirsty leader that will stop at nothing to seize the Pride Lands… Set in the universe of the LK with plot elements and characters from Flight of the Phoenix and Pride. NIMH Escape from the Planet of the Rats: Ten years after the NIMH-1 mission, the Rats of NIMH-Beta have perfected their new technological civilisation. Josh Anderson and his mouse family are living happily, until Josh's would-be rescue ship, the NIMH-Two appears out of the time vortex. Onboard the abandoned, ghost spaceship, they discover a certain mouse girl escapee from...Earth! Embarking on a rescue mission to his home planet, Jenny McBride leads Josh and the Brisby-Andersons back to a ravaged, post-apocalyptic Earth, now inhabited by dominated by intelligent Rats like the NIMH-Betans, who plan to wage war on Nimh-Beta... Secret of NIMH/The Rescuers crossover. (release date still to be announced) Titanic Adventure Out of Time: The past forever lost in regret. Bat what if the past could be changed? Frank Carlson, a British secret agent is travelling on board RMS Titanic on her fateful maiden voyage. His mission: prevent the outbreaks of two World Wars, a Communist Revolution and ensure a new future of peace. A novelization of the 1994 PC game by the same name. (release date still to be announced) Return to Castle Wolfenstein: In 943 AD, the dark Saxon warlock knight Heinrich I is defeated and condemned to eternity in limbo; in 1943, at the height of World War II, his resting place is discovered by the Nazi SS Paranormal Division, who seek to harness the powers of the ancient curse. US Army Ranger for the OSA, B.J. Blazkowicz is captured by the Nazis in Austria and imprisoned in the notorious Castle Wolfenstein. After escaping captivity, he embarks on a solo mission of unravelling the mysterious 'Operation Resurrection' taking place within the Castle, which might mean preventing, not just a Nazi victory, but an entire Armageddon of undead creatures, mutants and super-weapons... A novelization of the 2001 PC game of the same name. (release date still to be announced) The Martians: Ten years after the rescue of Mark Watney, the Ares 6 mission is preparing to wrap up their mission on Mars. But an unforeseen accident destroys their Hab and MAV, killing the entire crew...or so NASA thinks. Two survivors have been overlooked: Mission engineer John Mace and flight surgeon Susan Sanchez. The two new Martians are now stranded on Mars, with nothing but one working Rover, some limited supplies and each other's support and ingenuity to survive. The Lion King Planet of the Lions: In the near future, overpopulation and dwindling of the Earth's resources has made deep space travel imperative. The first faster-than-light spacecraft Horizon Eagle is launched to explore the solar system of Alpha Centauri; it vanishes without a trace. Ten years later, a second spacecraft is launched commanded by Captain Paul Conandale and his crew. When they crash on an Earth-like planet, they discover a world of talking lions... Will be Avatar and Planet of the Apes style, set in the Lion King universe. The Lion King II Beyond the Planet of the Lions: Follows Paul's new adventures during the events of Simba's Pride. Second instalment in my LK trilogy. The Lion King III Escape from the Planet of the Lions: Paul and his lion family journey back to Earth and discover a dark secret on Paul's old home planet... Final instalment in my LK trilogy. The Secret of NIMH Reincarnation: An engineer at NIMH is struck on the head and falls into an irreversible coma; or so the world believes. Hank awakens reincarnated as a mouse on the Fitzgibbons farm, where he meets the Brisby family and the escaped rats of NIMH. Using his advanced human knowledge, he sets out to create a new life for himself and his new friends, while defending them from his old NIMH colleagues pursuing them. Unfortunately, a certain sly rat in the Nicodemus clan also wants to exploit Hank's knowledge for his own dark ends, even if it means threatening the life of a certain field mouse beauty, whose heart secretly beats for Hank... The Secret of NIMH II The Quest: Several years after the founding of Thorn Valley, Hank is living happily with his family. His stepson Timmy Brisby is called to Thorn Valley to train in the Rat’s army as per his late father’s wishes. But what happens when a certain lady mouse appeals to Timmy for help? Can the youngest Brisby son and his stepfather save Thorn Valley from the mad scientist Dr Valentine of NIMH, who might actually be under the control of the eldest Brisby son? Lagomorphic Reincarnation Remastered: A proposed rewrite of the original LR, set in the universe of the TV series... Inspired from Prince Rainbow's Blessing by kamikaziwinkie. I am Legend Dawn of the Dead: In 2012, the Krippin virus was unleashed upon the world, driving humanity to the brink of extinction. Several years later, survivor Neville Morgan is living in isolation in a derelict and ruinous London, hunted by the surviving zombie-like plague victims, ruled by the few still retaining their human intelligence. Nothing left to live for but his memories, his abandoned civilisation, and...hope? Can he trace the source of the virus and find the lost cure, before the last of the human race is wiped out? Will he become a legend of the living or the undead? I am Legend and Dawn of the Dead crossover, with all-new characters.
