Come say hi, I promise I won't bite!

I feel terrible for not being on at all lately, and am sad to say that I've been avoiding 100 Faces because I have no inspiration or motivation. So right now, I'm sorry to announce that it's not going to updated for a while, if ever. I really do want to finish it, and it was such a fun project to work on, but right now I'm invested in life, art, and other fandoms, so it just isn't in the cards right now.

So, I'm Firefly264, but you can call me Firefly. I joined a while ago, and have experimented with a lot of different writing styles, fandoms, and POVs, even though not all of my experiments have been published

Genderbends are kind of my favorite things ever.

My update schedule is rather sporadic, because I have a bad habit of starting stories without any real planning behind them: I know what's supposed to happen, but I have no idea how it will happen. I'm working on it, but for my older stories at least, I wouldn't expect updates in the near future.

Now, some actually interesting (I hope) stuff about me!

Like I said, I'm Firefly, and I seem to be a girl with too much time on her hands.

I'm a huge fangirl, especially when it comes to Homestuck, anime, and the like; I can go on forever about my fandoms. Most of my brain is devoted to fandoms, fanfiction, fanart, and occasionally school, which leaves me a little... scatterbrained most of the time.

I've been described as the following: crazy, random, nonsensical, funny, smart, and weird. I choose to take all of them as compliments.

I dabble in cosplay, and while I'm definitely not incredible at it, I have tons of fun putting my costumes together and hanging out at conventions.

I have a strange love for the darker side of fanfiction, though funny fluff is always nice. Most of my writing will involve dark themes, death, angst, all that good stuff (but not all of it! I actually have a crack story (kinda)! I'm trying, people, I swear! I have ideas, I just... suck at writing humor)

And... that's about it. That's the story of Firefly. Interesting, non?

100 Faces of Roy Mustang- On pause until I can get my act together and write.

The After-M*A*S*H- As I said in the description of this story, this is just a side project, not at all my first priority. Actually, it's less than a side project. I have basic ideas for the rest of the chapters, and bits and pieces of different scenes written, but don't count on my coming back to this any time soon. This will most likely just be edited into a single BJ-centric oneshot.

Making Amends- The second fic that I posted. I really have no idea where to go with this, but I do have the barest hints of a plot (*gasp*) beginning to form at the back of my mind. But as my anime addiction grows, I'm starting to really lose interest.

At The End of All Things (tentative title)- Post COS, pairings to be revealed (shh, it's a secret!) but no yaoi, probably rated T for the usual stuff (*cough-EDandMUSTANGbeing totalBUTTHEADS-cough*). And whoa, it has a title! Await an actual summary; it's coming!
Ah, yes. This story. The planning for this has become somewhat of the bane of my very existence, but it looks as if I can start writing pretty soon! My muse has left me for the moment when it comes to the actual chapters, but rest assured, there is a plot, and I really do think it's a pretty okay one! So yeah, this is basically unwritten at this point. -_-'

Fem!Lock AU (From The Start, ugh, titles)- A BBC Sherlock semi-genderbend project that has been filling my brain as of late- only character changed as of yet is Sherlock, but who knows what will happen. Starts with kid!lock (which of course includes my darling Mycroft being an excellent big brother), and leads on from there. A series of (mostly) chronological drabbles. ((*sighs* Here I go again, loading more on to my plate than I can handle...))

I also have a bunch of other half-baked plots and ideas, but let's stick with this for now, shall we? Expect oneshots whenever.

My profile and works are all hereby named SAFE SPACES. While some pieces may mention or contain some dark stuff, I will ALWAYS make note of possible triggers, and will gladly take any concerns voiced in reviews or private messages into consideration with my writing. Slurs may be used occasionally in stories, but never will they be said off-handedly, and they will ONLY be used if it fits in context (ie period-typical homophobia, sexist slurs from sexist characters, and TAGGED abusive dialogue/relationships) and will always be handled in a way I hope is and strive to make appropriate. There will, however, be no use of the n-word or r-word, regardless of context or possible use in canon. THAT is where I will draw the line.

Getting Hate Isn't Fun, It Isn't Glamorous, It Isn't Funny, It Doesn't Make You Feel Good. It Might Make You Feel BIG But It Makes Around 13 Million Teenagers And Children A Year Feel small. So Next Time You Think About Sending Anonymous Hate. Remember A Few Things:
1. It Feels So Much Better Knowing That You've Made Someone's Day, So Send Something Nice, Something Kind, Something That You'd Like To Get Sent.
2. Hate, No Matter How Small The Amount Or How Harsh It Is, Can Have REAL EFFECTS On REAL PEOPLE!
3. Hate Can Always Be Traces Back To You, There Are Ways.
4. I Don't Think You Want To Be Responsible For Someone's Suicide.
So Please, All I'm Asking, Is That You Think Before You Press Send. So Many Lives And Tears Could Be Spared If People Would Stop CYBER BULLYING.

I recently read a oneshot manga called Koe no Katachi, and I just wanted to share. It centers around a boy named Ishida, and a girl named Nishimiya, two students (in elementary or middle school it looks like, it isn't specified), and told completely from Ishida's perspective. Nishimiya joins the class one day, but when asked to introduce herself, she says nothing until the teacher gains her attention with a tap on the shoulder. Then she lifts her notepad and shows a message: Hello. I hope we can be friends.

Nishimiya is deaf.

Over the course of the story (60 or so pages), her school days are told through Ishida's eyes. At first, it seems as if the class will accept her. But she can't keep up with the hearing, speaking students, or the rather incompetent (when it comes to accommodating special needs) teacher, and her classmates begin shunning her. She is outcast, and then the bullying begins. Over the course of the main bulk of the story, she is ridiculed, blamed for the loss of a choral competition simply because she wanted to sing, and eight of her special hearing aides are stolen and/or destroyed. Paying for replacements would cost about fourteen thousand dollars total. Eventually, the principal steps in, saying that if the bullies who are responsible step forward, the school will cover the cost of replacing Nishimiya's hearing aides; otherwise, the police will have to get involved.

Ishida, in all of this, has been the worst of the girl's tormentors, and when faced with this kind of punishment, he steps forward as one of the culprits, expecting his friends (who stood by or helped) to do the same. Instead, he is thrown under the bus alone. Now it's his turn to be shunned, bullied, and mocked. Even the teacher (who has done nothing up to this point, and is actually quite a bully himself) refuses to listen, refuses to acknowledge the fights that Ishida doesn't start but gets blamed for, and even goes so far as to call the boy a liar when he tells what has been going on.

I won't tell any more than this, but by the end of the story (a brilliant ending, by the way), I was almost in tears, because this is exactly what happens, every day, to kids and teens around the world. Because they're different, or disabled, or just because they're an easy target. And it isn't just the victims who end up hurting; the bullies end up just as badly off, as shown in the story. I recommend this oneshot to everyone, manga reader or not, because the core message is hard hitting, true, and beautiful. The entire story touched me deeply, and I think everyone should read this, and spread the message about this story.

So please, read it. It will only take a few minutes of your time, and I can promise you that it will be worth it. Bullying is not okay, and the more people understand that, the more people will try to stop it, will stand up against the hate.
