I am sharing them in the hope that someone will give them the love and attention they deserve. Most of them are just brief summaries/overviews, but if you would like to adopt one, or would like me to have another go at a fav of yours, let me know. I had a sudden lightning bolt of inspiration a few months ago, but have only just gotten around to sharing. Doesn’t it seem odd that muggleborns are left to figure it all out on their own for the first 11 years of their life, even thought it is a well known fact that all magical children display wandless magic from a very young age? And apparently, magical children, muggleborn or otherwise, are known from birth, so doesn’t anyone else think that’s just asking for voldemort or worse? Left in the muggle world, the children are neglected, feared, abused & grow up believing there is something "wrong" with them. I am sure in some cases, parents witnessed the wandless magic, freaked out & either beat the child (Freak) or left them to an orphanage. Therefore, I think in (HP) reality, the ministry should own all muggle hospitals, and have magical midwives in every maternity ward, allowing them to remove muggleborns from their families (Obliviated) and place them in special pre-adoption homes waiting for magical families to adopt them. Magical families who are unable to have children could adopt as many children as their income would reasonably allow. It would be a law that for every biological child you have, you adopt a muggleborn child. That way, they would be taught all the basic things that children born in the wizarding world learn. If the child is adopted immediately after their birth, there would be a spell/potion that would make the child a biological match for the adopting family. The longer the family waits to uses this method, the less effective it is. Naturally, there is a waiting list for childless couples wanting the newborns. The adoption process is strictly monitored by a division of the ministry, who control the adoption process and then keep in touch with the families to ensure a good match/no violence or abuse, etc, but since the practice has been around for so long, the purebloods don’t look down on the muggleborns for being muggle, but some do still look down on them because of their lacking pedigree. etc etc etc... so? good idea? no? you got a better one? look sharp people, i might just write a fic based on this. |
