Author has written 8 stories for One Piece, Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass, and Raised by Wolves, Jennifer Barnes. About Yours Truly: Hi people! If you are here to stalk me you have come to the wrong place. Anime/Manga fanatics can find me at my tumblr, for book lovers, I can be found on Goodreads. A word of warning though, I am prone to pull vanishing acts and unexpected reappearances. Yes, my previous pen name was PsychoticGirl, in case you're confused. I was a lurker for years and had an account (Lin-isfallingupthesky - No, nothing to do with Jeremy Lin shooting, Lin was a nickname for Linda as it's too poncy for me and now it's perfect for Anber-Lin) but was often too lazy to log in and tended to bookmark all my favourite stories messily, and as a result I'm now forever trying to re-locate old stories. I had attempted a story there for Ghost Hunt titled so very creatively 'Ghost Hunt Season Two', and then proceeded to tear it down after being stuck on writer's block that haunted me for years and the realization that my writing just plain sucked monkey balls. I haven't abandoned plans for that but I'll need time to get back into the fandom again and rewrite things properly in a real horror story context and not something that reads like a middleschool stage play. Why did I return to write again after years of lurking around? Writing practice is one reason, I suppose, and another being I reached the point where I have headcanons and frustrations overflowing in my head that just had to be penned down. Once that was done, I figured there's no harm done posting it online. If I ever were to find a genie's lamp along with two other people and we will all be sharing the three wishes, I would want to be the one who goes last, so that I can wish for the world to end and pull the ultimate troll on the two poor lucky bastards and the unsuspecting universe. But since there's no such things as genies or magic lamps, of course you're as safe from me as a plate of chocolate lava cake locked away in a fat kid's fridge. I am a bookworm and a self-respecting nerd who just so happens to have a rather unhealthy obsession with stories. Something about hidden worlds in pages and on screen drama, the way emotions bleed out of the characters and stuff gets under my skin. You know what I mean. I have too many fandoms to count and not all are listed in the Favs section. I work in short bursts of muses and suffer muffled under yards of writer's block, so sue me and burn me with your flamethrower all you like. I ain't got a cent and the most I will do is be hurt by the flames and sniffle a bit, is all. Then I will just pop right back like daisies in your neighbour's ungodly green lawn and you are very much welcome to badger me with PMs and a giant pair of shears anytime because I bloody well will have deserved it. I'm a weird one as I almost always like side characters more than the main characters in any canon story, and the fact that I used to steer clear of writing pairings in fandoms but am more than ok with reading those which I like or pulls me in. The funniest thing is some of my favourite pairs aren't featured front and center in my favourite stories as I'm mostly happy with the way they are. I also believe that almost any damned pairing can happen as the pen is mightier than the sword. I am open to reading and writing (but I'll have to charge ;)) pairings outside of friendship and my fav ships, though they won't have as much impact on me. However, I am only drawn to it if it is (a) in character (most important criteria), (b) emotionally realistic in context (meaning no over abundance of one-way fluff/sap/angst), (c) has got that long lasting 'spark' (chemistry, dynamism...subjective really, but my own personal taste is preferably French Roast, not Instant Coffee Romance, or even One-Trick-Pony Dynamics). Nonetheless, I like stories regardless of their genres as long as they manage to grab me hook, line and sinker. What I don't like are OC mains or OC/CC pairs, mary sues and overly fluffy/destructive love-angst/sappy OOC romances. Still, there is always an exception to the rule if the story is that good. My pet peeves are the peppering of Japanese/other languages all over the place in fics, eyes described as 'orbs' (sorry but my brain replaces the word whenever it comes across it)...etc. For some reason I've dropped off the cliff from writing dark angst into the madcap humor realm for now, but ah well... I'd like to test out different kinds of genres (especially cross genres) and writing styles as practice for an OF, so if you're curious enough to see what nonsense I come up with next, you're more than welcome to linger around. Like any other writer, I really appreciate reviews and constructive criticism, so anything I can get I will keep in mind when working/re-working on my chapters. :) Oh, and I also happen to like rusty spoons. Now imagine me inserting a big old nasty grin here and go on running for the hills. Stories in Progress: Inevitable: I was dismayed to find so little fics here after that ending and thought to do a small continuation or series on Bryn after the end of the third book. This is currently on hiatus as I need to place my one-track mind back into the story to get the characters right. The Flaws and Virtues of Luffy's Nakama: I am focusing on the most 'hated/underrated' crewmates first before moving to the most loved ones. Nami's chapter is now up! Next in line is probably Chopper's. The Daily Lives of College Delinquents: I have a small plan tinkering away in my head but I'm focusing on the other stories first. I am sure by now you can gauge how good I am at multitasking. Polarity: Things start cooling down. Dealing with the Devil: Oneshots dump, enough said. I have headcanons and other pairings stuck in my laptop but I won't touch on them for fear of biting off more than I can chew at the moment. |
