His act of bravery sparks a complicated love with her daughter, and a totally different life and career path for Kate Beckett. Because although Johanna lived, someone out there still wants her dead, and as the years go by, Kate Beckett and Richard Castle are determined to find out who.

A story in response to the following prompt: S1 - Beckett has to attend a family gathering (wedding, reunion, etc.), something that takes place over a few days. Her distant family's always been bugging her about finding "Mr. Right" so she ends up taking Castle as her boyfriend - cute awkwardness, closeness, feelings ensue.

At the end of Season 2, Castle decided to stop working with Beckett, and misery follows. Complete.

There are so many things we take for granted, even those to which we seemingly attach some value. It takes losing all of it to know the real value they hold though.

One-shot set five years in the future from mid-season 8. Her hand fluttered at her throat, reaching for the comfort and softness of her turtleneck, and the sunlight caught her ring. The row of diamonds exploded in a shower of color, radiant as a firework display. Castle saw the twinkling diamonds and a chip of ice melted inside his heart. COMPLETE

4fireking suggested a story where Castle has a son instead of a daughter. This is obviously AU. It starts at the beginning when Rick meets Kate. Ian is not a male Alexis. He has challenges but is determined to overcome them. Rick helps the best he can. I own nothing Castle except my dreams.

Set around "Headhunters". -The hammer blow comes when she least expects it, and it's devastating. He wants to follow another cop, and not just any other cop. He wants to follow Ethan Slaughter, this uncouth meathead from Gangs whose last three partners all died on the job under questionable circumstances, earning Slaughter the unfortunate nickname: "The Widowmaker."

Kate's been in a coma for 2 years. When she awakens, she learns that Castle let her go. He's moved on for the sake of his sanity. Can she forgive him for abandoning her? Will Castle risk his heart again to be with Kate? Love always finds a way. Or so they say!

Post-ep for 2x24 Beckett deals with the aftermath of Gina showing up at the precinct and then leaving for the summer with Castle. She makes great efforts to move on with her life, and then disaster strikes. "Make. Me. Care." She uttered the words one last time in a tissue thin voice, as cruel, embarrassing tears coursed down her cheeks. "Too late, Kate. You already do."

They met briefly during the war. Now she is out for justice and revenge. He is trying to resurrect his writing career and get over a divorce. Their paths cross and soon they are plunged into a world of murder, spies and constant danger.

This is set in one of the most painful episodes ... ever ... Rise. #LeSigh. This might turn into a multi chapter story, turning AU soon. Otherwise it'll stay as it is.
