Author has written 18 stories for Hobbit, Firefly, Star Wars, Pride and Prejudice, and Harry Potter. I've only been doing this for a little while, but fan fic is super addicting! Who knows where I will go next. I have a sequel planned for Second Chances, and a sequel - maybe 2! - for Love Hope and Compassion (although I will title them better, that title is grating on me). More ideas abound for P&P, but so far just some short stuff, nothing epic or too angsty. For you Star Wars lovers, may I highly recommend the charming little books by Jeffrey Brown? I have Vader's Little Princess and it is cute and hilarious. Vader and Son is equally amusing. Some comments on writing: 1) Some authors I see are very apologetic about this or that in their author's notes. Is that really necessary? Just do the best you can, and write the story that speaks to you. And stick to it! 2) Reviews are nice, but there's a story I need to tell and I'll tell it no matter how many reviews I get. I will never put any comments in my stories to "read and review" or other comments demanding reviews. I find that tacky. What I'm doing is here is really more for me than it is for you, so I don't worry much about reviews or about following canon, nor am I particularly concerned if you like it or not. But if you DO review, why do you like it? Why don't you like it? If you are going to take the time to review me or any one else on here, don't be lazy about it. 3) Some people I have connected with on here have told me about getting rude reviews because of not following canon or something of that nature. Anyone can be on here writing anything they want in any way they want, as long as they follow guidelines and do not plagarize. That's what fanfic is. That's what an AU is. So if you are one who gets their knickers in a twist about canon not being followed - consider going elsewhere. Or don't read anyone else's work. That way, you'll never have to get worked up over something that isn't your business to begin with. And you'll keep your blood pressure down, too. That's always a good thing. Enjoy the writing process, and I look forward to reading your works soon! |
