![]() Author has written 4 stories for Harry Potter, X-overs, Dragon Age, Halo, and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Insanity Lord's Original Characters Morgana La Fay Based on the sorceress from the Arthur legend, this particular Morgana is a devil (based primarily on the Devil May Cry series version of devils), ancient and incredibly powerful, she is in no way related to Arthur, though she does have a son named Mordred. Age: Unknown. Suspected to be several million years old (her apparent age is mid twenties, though she can seemingly change it at will...being an ancient devil has its perks) Race: Devil (pure blooded, multiple levels of power and several transformations) Appearance: Human Form: Morgana's human form varies (devils are known to be shapeshifters), though in general she has long hair, often dark blue, and deep, alluring eyes that can also change, depending entirely on her mood (or simply on a whim). She's relatively tall (5'11), with a slim, athletic, and honestly voluptuous figure (granted, she can choose her human appearance, so she obviously goes for the sexiest one), and often wears sexy clothing to show off her body. Devil Form (basic): In her first devil form, Morgana's dark blue hair turns a vibrant red, and her eyes turn gold. She grows natural body armour that leaves her head and shoulders bare, but cover everything else, and the 'armour' resembles black scales. Other than that, she still looks rather human. Her physical strength, endurance, and speed rise dramatically in this form. Second Form – Dark Seraph: In this form, Morgana's hair turns from red to brilliant, platinum blond. Her eyes remain gold, and her 'natural armour' extends and turns shining gold, covering her entire body, and she gains six wings on her back. Three white, three black. In this form, she gains the power of flight and her speed, strength, and endurance all rise even more. Final Form – Goddess of Devils: Morgana's final and most terrifyingly powerful form. Her hair turns midnight-black, and her eyes turn black without pupils. All her natural armour vanishes, leaving her naked save for the glowing white runes that cover her entire body, barely covering her chest and nether-regions. Her strength, speed, and endurance all sky rocket to levels few others can hope to match, and she gains access to her Ragnarok attack, an attack so powerful that she doesn't use it often in case it destroys the universe. Weapon: Devil Arm – Thanatos: A Devil Arm nearly as old as Morgana herself, the origins of this weapon are a mystery. Morgana refuses to explain how she got it, and generally only wields it in her devil forms. The scythe has a black blade set into a white skull sitting atop a crimson handle with spikes at the bottom. When swung, the blade leaves behind a spectral trail and seems to drain the heat from the world, leaving deathly cold behind. Powers: These will vary from fic to fic, but in general: Devil (Arcane) Magic: Morgana is a true master of the Arcane arts. This includes blood magic, though she rarely uses it, as well as ancient elemental spells few remember. She can also summon spirits and bind them, but dislikes that particular branch of magic and never uses it unless it's to punish an enemy that somehow avoids being killed. Devil Racial Powers: These include: Regeneration, agelessness, super-strength, speed, and endurance, and shapeshifting. Personality: Morgana, like the rest of her family, adopts a very...devil may care attitude. She's ancient, powerful, but also beautiful, alluring, and sexy...and she knows it. She also gets bored very, very easily as nothing really surprises her anymore. As such, she often goes out of her way to find something 'interesting' to do, which is never good for anybody else. She comes across as slightly insane (which she admits is quite true), chaotic (again, she admits to this being true), and rather off the wall. She's unpredictable at best, always smiling, joking, and laughing at something...but this is mostly a mask to hide the dangerous creature that is Morgana La Fay. Should one make the dire mistake of pissing her off (hard to do, considering her carefree attitude to things) by: Insulting her clan, and I don't mean by calling her names. She can take that. In this case, a bad, deserving of death insult would be calling her or her clan weak, cowardly, or otherwise dare to insinuate that they are as insects among their kind. She has her pride, and trying to wound it is suicide. Assaulting her clanmates in such a way that they are unable to fight back and then brag about it. Morgana is proud of the strength of herself and her clan, and trying to degrade that through cowardly actions just angers her. Stealing from her or her clan. I don't mean small things like money, but rather one of the countless, priceless, and dangerous heirlooms she keeps hidden away. Not for the overall safety of the world (because honestly, she doesn't care if a bunch of idiot humans get brutally killed for being stupid), but because they're powerful, and therefore she wants them for herself. To steal her powerful artefacts and heirlooms is to piss Morgana off, and to piss Morgana off is to get yourself killed. Messily. Various other reasons that she may or may not explain, depending entirely on her mood. She's also a sociopath...at least by human standards. Many devils are absolutely fine with random acts of casual violence that result in family members being cratered or put through walls (or trees, or rocks...or mountains...), and sees no problem with stealing, threatening, or outright hurting people that get on her nerves. Or just to screw with their heads. One of the two. History: Nobody knows where or when Morgana La Fay was born, or who her parents were. She keeps her origins to herself, and just laughs off attempts from people to find out (unless they persist, in which case they're...dissuaded from it. Rather forcefully). What is known is that she's long lived on one of the many islands surrounding Britain, close to Wales really, along with her entire clan. The island is named, very aptly, La Fay Island. Shrouded in magical mists, no human can explore it without getting hopelessly lost and ending up back at whatever form of transport they used to get there without being permitted and guided by a La Fay. Morgana is most well known for her escapades involving Arthur Pendragon (whom she fooled into thinking was her half-brother). Her son Mordred got in on the 'game', but became fast friends with Arthur (who is in no way related to the La Fay clan), but the truth of it is that she's been around for so very long that many of history's greatest events were caused (either on purpose or by accident) by her. She still feels rather silly about that Adolf kid and the small misunderstanding between him and the rest of the world, but she really didn't mean for it to happen. Oh well, live and learn! Appears in: Nothing yet. Mordred La Fay: Based on the knight from the Arthur Legend, he's the son of Morgana La Fay and every bit as carefree as his mother...and just as dangerous when angered. Age: Unknown. Appears to be in his mid twenties, but it can be assumed that he's at least 1000 years old. Race: Pure blooded devil. Appearance: Human Form: Unlike his mother, Mordred possesses neither the power nor the inclination to possess more than one human form (he is rather happy with the one he has). His human form is taller than his mother (at 6'1”), with short black hair and green eyes, with a lean, muscular physique. First Form – White Lightning His basic devil form. Despite the name, very little of this form is actually lightning. He retains most of his human form, gaining only a pair of bat-like wings and a long, devilish tail. In this form, he can more easily use his lightning attacks, and is stronger, faster, and more durable. Second Form – Seraph of the Red Lightning Mordred's most powerful devil form. His body becomes covered in black carapace, like a thick armour, his eyes glow red, and he gains six wings made of red lightning. His hands and feet become claws, and his speed, strength, and durability are highly increased. He can also use his red lightning to form weapons for offensive purposes, and shields and such for defensive purposes. Personality Mordred comes across as a complete goof, usually grinning and fooling around, never really getting truly serious until things get really out of hand. Of course, like his mother's public personality of mild insanity and unpredictable shenanigans, this is mostly a mask to hide the serious, devoted, utterly terrifying devil swordsman and sorcerer that is Mordred La Fay. Okay, just kidding about that...except for the devoted and terrifying devil swordsman and sorcerer bit. That part is true. Mordred has been around for centuries, his existence actually pre-dating the Arthurian myths that have made his name infamous among those that study folklore, and sees no point in being serious for much, so his goofy nature is, in fact, how he truly is. Although he's technically the next in line to lead the clan, he has no interest in doing so, and just wishes that the ridiculous elders of the clan would stop bothering him about it. Despite past hostilities between him and his mother, he gets along fairly well with Morgana, though is utterly terrified of making her truly angry (and for good reason), though he's not afraid to poke fun at her age (this usually gets him hit in the face by something big and heavy), or her lack of a husband (he knows full well what happened to his father, and he feels the bastard deserved it) or overall love life (again, this often gets him hit in the face by something big and heavy). A devoted husband, Mordred will go to any length to protect his children, often shedding the goofiness and reminding those that dare to harm his family that he is, in fact, a dangerous being capable of decimating his foes with his red lightning should the need arise. History Born many, many, many centuries ago on La Fay Island, only Mordred's immediate family know his true history. What is known about Mordred is that he was never one to cause too many problems for the human race (though there are rumours that certain tyrants in history were destroyed by him because they simply...annoyed him), and that he has a twin sister, Morgan La Fay, with whom he has a small rivalry with (he views it as small, at least...her, not so much...) over the issue of who gets to be the next clan leader (Mordred doesn't give a damn, and often states that he'd be glad to let Morgan have the job), often ambushing him over it. When his mother decided to screw with Arthur Pendragon and made herself his enemy, Mordred 'joined the fun' and became friends with Arthur, helping him out whenever his Round Table Knights weren't up to the task. He also knew Merlin personally (several versions of him, in fact...the La Fay Devil Clan likes to travel the multiverse), and considered the human to be a worthy rival in terms of magic, but 'lacking in the skills to bed the wenches'. After Arthur's death, Mordred vanished from history entirely, just travelling the world and watching humanity grow. Until the day he ran into a sorcerer and insulted him. The sorcerer destabilised Mordred's powers and forms, forcing him to wear a limiter in the form of an eye patch over his right eye. For 20 years, Mordred was stuck weakened, until the day he met his future wife, Marin. Although she was a human, she had very interesting powers – able to gleam information just from touching a person or object (this was not a psychic power, she merely...knew things) – and used this power (unwittingly) to discover Mordred's past. Instead of freaking out, she decided to date him. The two eventually married, and then Marin ascended to godhood, gaining the power, position, and title of 'Goddess of Knowledge and Wisdom' (the previous goddess had developed a severe case of A.D.D. and wasn't suited to the task anymore, though she retained her immortality and overall godliness even after giving up her position), thus allowing the two to stay together forever, and further allowing Marin to undo the damage done by that sorcerer, giving Mordred back the full range of his powers and abilities.
