Jed Rhodes Profile. Part of me thinks I shouldn’t update this thing anymore, because whatever I say I’m clearly wrong. :p Jed. - I do not own the Intellectual Property or characters of any of my works of fan fiction, except in the case of certain OC's or the self insert (do I own myself? Dunno). - I write stories on my own whim when the mood takes me. Reader enjoyment, while a welcome by-product of this process, is precisely that. A by-product. I write to my own schedule, and to my own satisfaction of writing. If you want to know where a story is going without having to wait for an update I'm happy to tell you so you have that, but I update when I can and is convenient for me. Not before. Sorry. - Related to previous point: I write for me. Any reviews giving helpful hints or suggestions are good. Reviews complaining that I'm shit without any suggestion of how to improve, or worse, reviews complaining that I'm "doing a crappy X/Y fic" or any variation where basically the premise of my plot pisses the reviewer off, are not. I write for me, which means if me writing a fic where characters are in their canon pairing and not the reviewer's OTP, or any other similarlay banal thing to hate a fic for, pisses you off, go read seem other fic. That's what the damn filters are for. - On the subject of me replying to a person's review: if a review asks a question, or if a review makes a point that I feel is necessary to address, I will take the time to reply. If a review leaves constructive criticism in a positive (helpful) tone as opposed to a a negative (unhelpful) tone, I will take the time to reply. If a review is a mere "are you going to update soon", I tend not to reply, as that will be made evident by the action itself. If its a simple "good story," I prefer writing the story that people enjoy to replying to a review telling me the same. If a review is overly negative in tone - that is, if a review is unpleasant or insulting, or I feel the reviewer is being unnecessarily rude or unpleasant in their criticisms or the manner in which they present their criticisms, then I will not reply: it's a damn fanfic, not professional work. I do it to enjoy myself, not to be made to feel dreadful. Jed. |
