Author has written 2 stories for Final Fantasy VIII, and Rurouni Kenshin. Hey there, fangirls and boys! I'm Kib, and I'm a freelance editor living in the UK. I love chocolate, peach schnapps, video games and singing. Writing-wise, I love cliffhangers, in-depth plot twists, complicated villains and even more complicated heroes. I hate mornings. 'Nuff said. Current obsession: Final Fantasy XV. Damn you, Square. How dare you publish such a broken, unfinished masterpiece and steal my heart against my will? I've been on this site a while but never managed to publish many of my plot bunnies - I suffer from chronic writer's block, so anything that survives to a publishable state is like gold dust on my hard drive. On the other hand, I am a professional editor and I've been a beta reader for several authors. Throw me a PM if you're in need of a dedicated beta or an enthusiastic sounding board for your ideas - I love nothing more than helping writers to draw out the very best stories they can create. I'm a big fan of a number of films, TV shows, animes/mangas and video games. Some of the big names in my fanfiction favourites list are: anything from the Final Fantasy series, Star Wars (largely the Extended Universe), Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach and Supernatural. That's just a few from the tip of the iceberg! Also a special mention to my favourites list. I re-read all of them regularly. Thanks for many happy and heartbreaking reads, anyone who's made it on there. PS. Just a note from a concerned beta: If you write for a fandom that's based in a country you don't live in (for example, the UK), try and run it by someone who does live there. I've seen a number of stupid mistakes for fics set in my country that really break immersion for anyone who lives there. Try looking up some of the laws, and if your story is heavily based on a specific location do a bit of research. For example, in the UK, we do not refer to 'blocks' as a measurement of distance, we go to university not college (college is a different thing), we have years not grades, we can only start learning to drive at seventeen, we do NOT possess guns (unless you use a decent backstory) and just so we can cut the stereotypes by even a tiny fraction, we do not use the word 'bloody' in every sentence. In fact, we have a rich and varied vocabulary of expletives that any Brit would be more than happy to demonstrate for you. Little rant provoked by dodgy Alex Rider fanfiction finished. Please carry on with your day. |
