Author has written 7 stories for Mario, Keeper of the Lost Cities, Ender's Game series, Young Justice, and Avengers. Tally is up to 5. Created short story based on "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shel Silverstein. {at bottom of profile page, please read and review through PM} Hallo, my fan fiction identity is Fantasia Komix, Fantix for short. This forum is not only a great way to lessen the pressure of the thoughts running through my head, but I also think that it is also a great way to see how other people think; my theory is currently that, while many don't realize it, a small part of a person's personality and character shows in one's writing style, either letting what goes on inside leak out or rush out in a torrent of flame. My gender, race, beliefs, age, and other bits of information will forever be unspecified on this site. Make your assumptions, but leave me in peace. The beliefs of the authors/creators of the stories I draw from do not reflect my own, so no flaming based on that. Other flaming will be treated as though it is from a comedian, so you might as well vent. Just make sure that you don't regret it later. I reserve the right to look and see if you actually have something of worth on your profile Please don't send me private messages to try to get me to practice online dating. I find that creepy because the emails get a bit outlandish. I do not care if you find yourself attractive or not, leave me alone. I am happy with my life, go out into the real world and find someone for you. If this doesn't apply to you, think whatever you want; laugh, be perturbed, ignore it, whatever, just don't send me emails responding to this paragraph. I have a story that is up for adoption; it's called "Super Paper Mario: Novel," and it's based off of the original Super Paper Mario, not Paper Mario. I am currently busy with other stories and school-work, so it's unlikely that I'll finish it. Please let me know if you adopt it. Linguistics status: Know (for the most part): English Learning: Latin Know tidbits of: German (tidbits, limited vocabulary (learning), insults) Italian (tidbits, music terms, insults, curse words, rude gestures) French (Insults) Spanish (a small list of basic vocabulary, curse words) Greek (rude gestures) Now, I enjoy playing the oboe. For those of you who don't know what in the world that is, it is an instrument that looks like a clarinet...if you ignore the fact that it has a double-reed mouth piece, has different keys, has more of a slight conical shape, is smaller, is louder, is in less band settings due to it being more of a classical than jazz, and is in a different key. Same difference, right? ...Nope. I wish that there were a fan fiction icon that involved orchestral pieces or events. I love cats (four of them), but I think that they can be annoying at times, especially when fur gets on a nice warm, dark-colored jacket that was going to be worn to school, or on concert attire. Or when they start beating up on one another. I read fantasy, science fiction, mysteries, and pretty much anything I can get my hands on. Now, let's be honest, if it is monotonous and boring, there is only a matter of time before it gets put away in a dark place {i.e. used bookstore}. Sarcasm and Panic are two aspects that are currently active in my head. Explanation in Brainwaves. (Please go read it and review if you haven't already) I think that the various stories comprised in a culture's mythology are interesting, for I find it fascinating to see what sorts of tales, infused by the culture's beliefs, capture the imagination and attention of people living in the society. However, a common misconception is that the mythology of a particular civilization always encompasses the beliefs of the culture when that is not really the case; an example of this example was that of the ancient Greeks. Personality Test: InTJ So far, I have had visitors from these following countries: Story Visits Australia Brazil Canada China France Germany Hong Kong India Indonesia Italy Mexico New Zealand Panama Philippines Poland Singapore Spain United Kingdom United States Venezuela Profile Visits Argentina Brazil Canada China Germany Trinidad and Tobago United States Now, it might be just me, but I think that it is pretty cool that people on various continents, peninsulas, and islands can post, read, and review other people's work. I find it weird that someone who hasn't read any of someone's fan fiction could still look at the profile. (PLEASE). Short story: Take Me Across "Papa," a little girl says as she sits down on the chair in front of her father. "Do you know where the sidewalk ends?" The father looks down at his daughter. "I used to, but could you remind me again, pena?" The little girl looks out the window, lost in thought, then she replies with a solemn tone. "Yes, Papa." She begins telling of a place that all children know of and all adults forget. "There is a place where the sidewalk ends and before the street begins." As she speaks, the curbside wavers, as though it were a mirage. "And there the grass grows soft and white, and there the sun burns crimson bright." The clouds grow sharp edged, and the sun flickers darker, like a fire licking at the sky but never touching. "And there the moon-bird rests from his flight to cool in the peppermint wind." She gazes up at the beautiful bird, its feathers glowing slightly, reflecting in the sun, as he lands on the clouds and falls asleep. Her father gazes upwards as well, his eyes looking where hers are, but not seeing the things she described; he doesn't know, and will not know for a long time, for he's only a grown-up, after all. Suddenly, the phone rings and they rush to the hospital to see her mother. The little girl's eyes shine with unshed tears, for they come only to say goodbye. She stands by her mother, who seems calmer than the girl remembers her having ever been for years. Suddenly, the frail woman asks the girl about the place where the sidewalk ends, her eyes filled with a strange emotion that only the little girl understands. "Let us leave this place where the smoke burns black and the dark street winds and bends, child." The clouds grow dark, threatening a thunderstorm, the shadows covering a small white alleyway bordering the street with no end in sight; the alleyway shivers with anticipation, unnoticed by the stragglers in the street as they scamper towards shelter. "Past the pit where the asphalt flowers grow." A pot hole cover is pushed upward by the sprouts of a star-specked dark flower, shining with a soft inner glow, only for it to flicker and disappear when a car runs through it. Petals drift downwards, falling and crackling to dust. "Daughter, please," the mother begs, tears dripping down her ash-grey face. "We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow, and watch where the chalk-white arrows to the place where the sidewalk ends. Please walk with me, my pena, my tocher. I need to go, please take me." Outside, small pieces of chalk roll around of their own accord, and, as though held by a child, little wavy arrows are drawn on the sidewalk towards the alleyway. The girl answers her mother with a heavy heart, knowing where the path will lead. "Yes, mother. Yes, we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow, and we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go." The little girl helps her mother up from the pristine white cot and they walk out the door of the room and out of the hospital hand in hand, following the chalk-white arrows. As they walk, the girl acknowledges a small group of children with a sad smile; passerby look at her with strange looks, wondering what she is doing, but they continue on the path, eventually fading away to nothing. All of the children watch the two go by but do not follow, little pieces of chalk in each hand, their eyes ever tired and sad. One, fingering the chalk piece with stained white fingers, whispers the rest of the poem. "For the children, they mark, and the children, they know the place where the sidewalk ends." The girl is reported missing, but eventually all the grown-up of the world, including her father, forget about her. When her father's time comes, she goes to his side. He remembers and weeps, begging her to lead him home. Afterwards, she becomes just another chalkling, leading the lost back home for all time or until civilization falls. -This story is based on the poem "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shel Silverstein. I wasn't able to find a section dedicated to fan fiction based on poetry, only fan poetry based on stories, go figure, so I put it here. BTW, I did write this, so unless you plan to give credit, don't copy and paste it onto your own profile. I basically made a disclaimer earlier, but I'll say it right now. I DON'T OWN THE POEM, SHEL SILVERSTEIN DOES. There. PLEASE review in the form of Private Messaging (PM).
