Author has written 13 stories for Sonic the Hedgehog, Dragon Heart, Harry Potter, X-overs, and D N Angel. I'm sorry, but I'm unlikely to continue any of my older stories here (anything before Foundling). They were written when I was a For anybody visiting my profile because I favourited them or added them to my alerts list, here's a little bit about me - that's what you're here for, right? I'm a slightly pessimistic optimist in her early thirties who speaks both Finnish and the Queen's English as a native (though my English is slightly better), reads fic in a variety of fandoms and spends most of her free time either online or chasing after her three mischievous cats. I also enjoy gardening, handicrafts and watching a variety of TV series. Most of my likes in terms of fandom are represented in my favourites list. I'm also more than a bit of a stickler for good spelling and grammar. This means incorrect usage of your/you're and there/their/they're rubs me the wrong way, and correct usage earns you figurative brownie points. If I favourited your story, it's probably because it made me laugh or cry (in a good way) and I intend to print it out at some later date to enjoy by torchlight during a longer power-cut. If I favourited you, it's because you've written more than one story that I enjoyed and it's easier to favourite the author than umpteen separate stories. A similar rule applies if I added you to my alerts list. (I may have done both: that's so it's easier to find a particular favourite.) Note: I've never actually lived in the UK, just visited a time or two for a couple of weeks each (airport layovers notwithstanding) so I'll probably make mistakes regarding the way things are done there. Google will only take you so far when you don't know the right questions to ask... Firstly, the relationship between Bowen and Draco is that of equals: Draco might be older and wiser, and sometimes play the role of "big brother", but if Draco gives half his heart to Bowen, for instance, they're pretty much of the same social standing and at relatively the same developmental level (i.e. fully-grown adults). Harry, on the other hand, would always be "the kid", even when he's old and grey. Draco would forever be more like a "parent" to him: they'd never truly be equals. Secondly, if Draco gives half his heart to Harry, either Harry is stuck about a thousand years in the past for the rest of his life, he drops dead on arriving back in the 20th century because Draco's unlikely to live for a thousand-plus additional years, or, if he were to join the Gryffindors in returning to the future, Draco would be utterly and completely miserable in the 20th century. The pollution, lack of untouched wilderness, and having to, once again, lurk in dark caves to avoid detection would be pure misery after a lifetime of clean air, mostly untouched terrain and several days or weeks of freedom to bask safely whenever he feels like it. If the wizards saw him, he'd be bundled off to a dragon sanctuary in short order, where some (perhaps even most) of the dragon-handlers would treat him like one of the animalistic dragons they're used to dealing with, and not what amounts to a huge human with scales, wings and horns. News: 4.9.2011: General notice: I usually update my blog first, anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days before I do - if you're eagerly awaiting an update for something, it might be an idea to keep an eye on the aforementioned blog. 7.8.2015: Real life decided that the last couple of years would be a good time to prod my backside (to paraphrase the late, great Sir Terry Pratchett), which has prevented me from working on either of my fics as much as I would like. I'm currently battling a massive case of writer's block on the next chapter of Irrumpo Ritus and have started re-reading the DNA manga to try and regain some inspiration. 28.2.2019: I've been working on the first chapter of a Breath of the Wild fic, the Light of Hyrule, which is up on my blog and a couple of other easy-to-update places. I want to get a few chapters in before I post it here, just in case I decide something needs editing at the last minute. 30.10.2019: Chapter 4 of The Light of Hyrule is up on my Blogger. 2.1.2020: If anyone wants an invite code for AO3 (Archive of Our Own), I have more of them than I know what to do with. Find me on Tumblr (chrisatola) and I'll send you one. Foundling is complete the way it is: I really don't have time to go into the entirety of an AU of First Year at the moment. Real life comes first. |
