Author has written 8 stories for Harry Potter, Misc. Anime/Manga, Star Trek: 2009, Misc. Books, and Avengers. I joined FFnet in April of 2000. Back then, there was an incredibly strong community as writers began to populate the site in greater numbers. It was new, it was fun. As time passed, we had our ups and downs, collectively, and separately. Server outages, full portions of the site going missing, even the quickly aborted "Make your story shine with whatever font, font size, and color you want" era. Personally, I was kicked off FFnet twice, both due to false claims of copying a story; I personally like to call this the "Troll era", but that would paint the picture that such things are not still around this site. As to the stories on my page at both times, I removed them from the public purview, and have them saved offline. The writing name used each time has been stricken from memory, and everyone who once knew me by those names no long knows me. Not the first time an online persona of mine has completely vanished from the internet, nor will it be the last. My greatest mistake, in terms of writing, was when I picked up the Harry Potter fandom. In July 2005, I had been out of high school from two months, a good thirty percent through the plotting of an original novel, and beginning to put together a second. Within a day of publishing "All Things Considered" I began to work on the plotline which would become the "Harry Potter-Adkins" story. In the midst of that, the idea of "Revision of Fate" came up due to the 'Harry Potter is friends with goblins' meme going around at that time. HPA took another full year or so to get far enough to start writing, while I developed two other failed stories in between. In the midst of this, my personal stories sat on the wayside. Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm glad I took the extra time to let them ferment. The first story has 'suffered' through about twenty re-plots, going from extravagant, to merely fine-tuning. My second novel is slower on the dev-block, but it too has gained several reiterations- and an actual plot. So what am I saying, inbetwixt the rambling? As of July 25, 2012, at 2000 Central time, the writer named Trey Miller is retired. I am a far different man than I once was; obviously older, not-so-obviously more mature, I am well read, and my story-telling is no longer childlike. Perhaps more so, I no longer hold the interest in the fandom I once did. My stories? Take them, use them if you wish. I will leave them, and this message here as a reminder of what once was. The only thing I ask is that if someone does use one, please tell me; I would be interested in seeing what is done. I will continue to read fanfiction, although my 'Follow' list will begin to decrease as I weed out certain authors and stories which no longer interest me; I just no longer will write. All those who followed my stories wanting to see where I went next, I wish I could give you some sense of closure. All those who will follow, I'm sorry I did not take these stories to the heights they deserved to be told at. I never once thanked a reviewer, so I take this moment now. And what's amusing is, I finally found a use for something Douglas Adams once wrote: "So long, and thanks for all the fish." Trey Miller, signing off EDIT 8, May 2013, Posted Iron Enterprise DAMN YOU PLOT BUNNY! New...I have no clue, plot bunny, drabble, ficklet, whatever up. Saw Iron Man 3 with Star Trek Into Darkness trailer. Checked FFN, saw 0 stories where Stark time travels. Got bunny stuck in recursive loop in brain, dumping it here. Let's see if this will settle it... |
