Hey, I'm Katara- Kat Harkness. Nice to meet'cha. I'm an all-Brit girl and a student. I love DC and 2000AD, and Marvel ain't too shoddy either. Other loves include Star Trek. I can't go an hour without something running through my head, and I relish the opportunity to do something with all the disjointed half-scenes. I hope you enjoy.

Note: I have been asked on several occasions who the person in my profile pic is. Answer: I'm not entirely sure. I think it's meant to be Helena Bertinelli (Post Crisis on Infinite Earths, Pre New 52 Huntress) as Batgirl, but the suit's wrong. I just think it's a cool picture.

My Stories

My stories fit into three categories: shorts, generally one-shots, may be expanded or written as two- or three-shots; long stories; and multi-arc fics, several long stories following from one another and probably at least partially AU. At the time of writing, I have 20 shorts, six long stories on hiatus, one series of related one-shots published as one story on hiatus, a multi-arc with three arcs in progress one finished arc and one side-story, and three long stories in progress.

Wayne's Boys: This is my (first) multi-arc. It is a Batman story, set as an alternative to Flashpoint and the New 52 reboot. The past has been altered from canon, resulting in younger Bats (in general) and a larger family than usually portrayed. There are several other differences. The back-story for my 'verse is being told in Flashback. It starts with Bruce first deciding to become a bat for the Mission, and I intend to finish it with the healing of Barbara's paralysis and the re-integration of Jason into the family. The first arc proper, if you want to call it that, is Black and Red (a crossover with the Dark Knight trilogy, set mostly in the Nolanverse), set a month and a half or so before the second arc Family Ties. Family Ties is not only the first arc I started writing, but also the first fanfiction I actually wrote, so it's finished already. It is accompanied by the side-story 8 Days a Hostage. The next arc is Jason and the Argonauts, and is split into two storylines. One is the main story, which starts a month and a half after the end of Family Ties. The second is more a series of shorts bridging the six-week gap. The chapters alternate between the two, so please keep an eye on the dates at the head of each chapter. In general, I aim to make it so you don't need to read the previous arcs to understand to next one, although there will be changes to the status quo that I will outline in the first chapter of the new arc as necessary.

The main characters: Bruce Wayne (Batman), Dick Grayson (Nightwing), Barbara Gordon (Batgirl), Jason Todd (Red Hood), Tim Drake (Red Robin), Stephanie Brown (Spoiler), Cassandra Cain (Black Bat), Helena Wayne (Huntress), Damian Wayne (Robin), Barbara Gordon (Oracle, Nolanverse, B&R only). Others will be added to this list as the arcs progress.

Pairings: these are the main, relevant pairings (although the romance isn't exactly the main focus). Bruce x Talia (past, all), Bruce x Selina (tentative, FT and some of Fl), Dick x Babs (FT and some of Fl; precursor, some of Fl), Tim x Steph (FT and some of Fl; mentioned frequently, B&R), NV!Babs x Tim (one-sided, B&R). Others will be added as arcs progress.

Little Bird's Vengeance: This is my (first) long stand-alone story. It is a Batman/Avengers crossover. It's set more or less in canon for the period post-Return of Bruce Wayne. It is not part of the Wayne's Boys 'verse. On the Marvel side, it's set perhaps a few months after the movie (Marvel's Avengers Assemble! or whatever the official title is) and is most likely AU from Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World. Definitely AU to Winter Soldier. Also, it's between the two Amazing Spiderman movies. Main characters (will be updated and so may contain spoilers): Tim Drake (Red Robin), Nick Fury, Tony Stark (Iron Man), Steve Rogers (Captain America), Thor, Bruce Banner (Hulk), Clint Barton (Hawkeye), Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow), Pepper Potts, Kon-El/Connor Kent (Superboy), Cassie Sandmark (Wonder Girl), Bart Allen (Kid Flash), Jason Todd (Red Hood), Peter Parker (Spiderman). Pairings (will be updated and so may contain spoilers): Tony x Pepper (precursor), Clint x Natasha (complicated and somewhat suppressed), Kon x Cassie, Thor x Jane Foster, Bruce x Betty Ross, Peter Parker x Gwen Stacy.

Ultimate Avenging Alliance: This is a story set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, incorporating Amazing Spiderman, the Daredevil TV series, the X-Men franchise, and maybe even some Fantastic Four. Plus, of course, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and so on. Oh, and I'm gonna throw a more comic-y version of Deadpool in - because he's fun, although you could assume he's the same as in Wolverine Origins, or whatever. A bunch of scientists want to know how superpowers work. There are plenty of potential test subjects running around. The scientists just...forgot to ask permission. This leads to an eclectic collection of superheroes, spies and vigilantes sharing a cell, some of whom have secrets to keep. Main characters: so far just Peter Parker (Spiderman) and Matt Murdock (Daredevil). Plus evil scientists.

Ultimate Writing Adventure: Sequel/tie-in to Ultimate Avenging Alliance. Deadpool wants to be in a story where he can hang out with his bestie Spidey - and if getting the story written means he's got to hang out with a student and amateur writer, that's what he's gonna do. Main character is pretty much entirely me. Dealing with Deadpool.

Death's Avenger: My take on the popular Harry-Potter-becomes-an-Avenger theme. Basically, Harry is trailing after the Avengers (and various other superheroes) to ensure they fulfill their destiny, and prevent the Powers That Be from getting carried away and destroying the Avengers' world as they destroyed his own. This will follow various movies quite closely: Hulk, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Avengers, X-Men: Fist Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men, X-Men 2, X-men Last Stand, The Wolverine, Amazing Spiderman, Iron Man 3, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Amazing Spiderman 2. Possibly also Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Agents of SHIELD. Haven't decided yet.

Rise of Harry Potter: Harry stops believing in the Guardians, and Jack goes to restore his belief. As a result, Jack gets a new sibling, and Harry gets a brother. Hogwarts won't know what's hit it. There'll be some Dursley-bashing, a little Dumbledore-bashing. Not entirely sure what angle I'll go with Dumbledore, but it'll either be manipulative or foolish. Pairing to be revealed at a later date; no pairing for Jack or the other Guardians.

Time, Space, Magic: Doctor Who/Harry Potter

Harry Potter, aged five, begins his life as a time traveler. At the age of twenty-one, he starts school at Hogwarts in the body of an eleven-year-old. But he's not alone. What did he do for sixteen years? And how will his life at Hogwarts be coloured by his experiences everywhere and everywhen? Will contain Dursley bashing and mild Dumbledore bashing.

Trek of the Avengers: Star Trek TOS/Avengers

This story was originally inspired by a set of Lego figures and a miniature Enterprise I had on my desk. This isn't the best starting point for a fic, so I set my iTunes on shuffle, and the song that comes up is the title of the next chapter. Should be interesting, partly because even I don't know what's going to happen yet. But there will be a space moose. Don't ask.

Love and Mayhem: Disney Princesses

This will involve the Prince and Princess from over a dozen Disney films. Word of warning, my interpretation of who they should be may not be the most popular. After a series of increasingly improbable events, they realise something's controlling their home. What could it be; but the power of FanFiction? Warning number two, some writes are psychos. As the Princesses find out to their peril.

Dalek Invasion:This is a series of one-shots on the theme of Daleks invading places. They take on a new world/universe/dimension most weeks, and are defeated by the locals. If you have any suggestions for fandoms the Daleks could invade, please PM me (or leave your suggestion in a review if you are a guest). I may not be able to fulfill all requests, because I don't know every fandom well enough, but if I can I'll add it to the schedule. Crossed with so far: Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Sherlock, Chronicles of Narnia, Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler, Star Trek. However, as this is getting increasingly difficult to write, this is now on hiatus.

Gotham Law: Batman/Judge Dredd

Based on four crossovers published by DC and 2000AD in the nineties. One of Dredd's most trusted colleagues heads to Gotham to clean up some unfinished business, and runs into two junior partners. Set in the Wayne's Boys verse, between the No Man's Land and War Games events. So this probably won't be started until I reach that point in Flashback.

Hunter's Son: Alex Rider

Another multi-arc fic, following on from Snakehead. Alex is called in on another mission, and at the end of it, realises the spy game may be what he's destined for after all. I haven't read Russian Roulette yet, so this will probably wait until after then.

Two Mountains: The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings

What would happen if Gandalf discovered the One Ring in Bilbo's possession at the end of Unexpected Journey? Bilbo is now caught between the Lonely Mountain and Mount Doom, as Dol Guldor stirs and Isildur's Bane awakens.
