![]() Author has written 13 stories for Naruto, and Evangelion. About me: I'm, to quote a Navy bud, "an overgrown juvenile delinquent that should know better". Having said that, I'm older than I act and I still enjoy some things of my youth. I like good anime, manga and a few but not many TV shows. I also enjoy reading the fanfics relating to those pastimes. I spent 20 years in the US Navy, both Fleet and Reserve time and was an Aviation Ordnanceman when I retired. Spending that time in the Navy kept my mind, tastes and outlook in life younger than my friends that I grew up with as I was around guys and ladies that were an average age of 19 years old. I am also married with five children, eight grandchildren, five, cats, and a dog. I have lately been reading some very good anti-Dumbledore Harry Potter fanfiction as well as some fanfiction stories where Harry uses muggle weapons such as firearms. After watching the latest HP Marathon a few weeks ago I am even more convinced that Dumbledore is a much better manipulator that Saratobi Hiruzen could ever hope to be. Possibly my favorites at this time are two Harry Potter/Bewitched crossovers as well as a Harry Potter/Black Lagoon story. While I never was interested in reading the books, something that I plan to correct at some point in time, the films were enjoyable, the first two times. Having said that I began to realize more and more every time I saw the movies just how much our beloved headmaster used Harry for his own purposes and the more I watched the more I began to dislike the man. That's why I enjoy the stories where Harry decides enough is enough and begins to stand up for himself and fight Voldemort on his own Muggle terms. The Black Lagoon crossover is a must read, the title is Harry and the Pirates and while he ends up with Ginny they way it happens isn't as messed up as the canon endings. BTW, MS Rowling in an interview conducted by Emma Watson herself admitted that pairing Harry with Ginny was a mistake and she had always intended that he and Hermoine would be the canon pair. Since I can't post links you'll have to google the interview but it is out there and it is real. Now if only a certain mangaka would just do the same and admit that he messed up the canon pairings for Naruto. About my projects: THE TIP OF THE SPEAR DEAD, Being rebooted as Tip Of The Spear, Shield Of Konoha. Over the life of this story minor plot holes grew to caverns and due to multiple storylines, the relationship between Neji and Hinta slipped into the canon antagonistic Neji instead of the kinder, protective big brother that I had originally intended. Other problems also cropped up as well as the discovery of over 150 spelling and grammar errors in the first two chapters alone. The rewrite will keep the majority of my ideas, add some new ones, and incorporate plot devices from other stories with the original author's permission when available. Older stories, written by persons that are no longer active, were referenced in PMs asking permission and informing the author that should I not receive an answer denying permission I would, after a wait of thirty days, take the lack of response as a yes. In the event of deceased authors, such as the late Larry Huss, in his case, I referenced the Konoha practice of using wind and fire jutsus to burn out underground Sound bases and outposts, when Naruto was asked where he got the idea from his reply was that..."I got it from a fanfiction." My PM to his son was to express my sorrow at learning of his father's death and to inform him of my reference to one of his father's idea's. As it stands, progress on this story is slower than I had hoped for due to the health problems of not only myself and my wife but my youngest daughter as well. There are many factors at the moment that seem to conspire against me while writing but that does not mean I am giving up. I just have a new vision of how I want the story to unfold, especially how Naruto and Sakura grow up and train in our world. I am also not happy in how Sakura's pregnancy and subsequent loss of their child evolved. I plan to change this in the following way so sorry for the spoiler, Their child will live and return to Konoha with his or her parents. I have devised a new method of how the two arrive in our world and although flawed to a degree, will allow for the child's age to not be too compromised. All will be explained in the story narrative. While I still plan on making this story a long one the chapters will try to be more focused on one or two storylines while I try to weave the lines I want to keep into a rich tapestry. A few last things regarding this story, the first thing is that I still reserve the option to allow Naruto to take more than one but no more than three wives with two being the most likely. The second is that while Sakura will have an attraction to other girls because of how and where she grew up as a teen Naruto is 100% straight. That means that although he may mince around to tease the other guys, especially Sasuke, he has no desire to have that kind of relationship with any male, especially Sasuke. To this day I cannot for the life of me figure out how a persons desire to maintain the first friend he ever made through danger and adversity, Wave Mission, can be twisted into a desire to have a homosexual relationship with that first friend. It just isn't there no matter how hard you squint. I see Naruto and Sasuke's relationship, especially in this story, as such. Sasuke is a brooding and arrogant pain in the nuts that has been identified as a flight and desertion risk as well as a potential traitor to the village. Naruto and Sakura have to determine just how serious a risk to Konoha he is. At some point, Naruto is going to just say fuck it and mess with the guy to either make him show his hand or get him to admit that he's not quite right in the head because of Itachi. Over time the two boys will form a deep bond and as a result, a form of brotherly bond is created to the point that they will actually share the love of two brothers, not the feeling of two lovers. Look, I have two friends that I grew up with that at the end of our phone calls or lunches we end with an "I love you brother" and if it's when we are leaving for our cars the last thing we do is share a hug, this goes for certain friends from my Navy days. Nothing is meant with those actions other than we see each other as members of a very close but extended family. I see Naruto and Sasuke's relationship as that way, they are brothers born from shared experiences, spilled blood, and combat, just as Sakura is their beloved sister no matter if she were to chose one over the other, Lee or a total stranger. In this story, there will not be any Naruto/Sasuke but there will be Sakura/OC in the arc covering our world and later Sakura/ one of the other R9 girls, Temari, Haku, Shion, or possibly a younger Princess Koyuki, I think that if I were to have the Snow Mission happen I could drop her age so she's about two to three years older than Naruto and Sakura. Mind you these are possible pairings apart from her being Uzumaki Sakura so they may or may not happen. The other reason that there will not be any Naruto/Sasuke is this, I find the fact that I can write Ami/Sasuke very enjoyable, Ami is such a blank canvas I can do anything with her and Since she was not a very pretty child such as Ino, Sakura, Moegi, or Hanabi, she's also the perfect Ugly Duckling. How many of you readers know of a girl that you grew up with that was far from cute or pretty only to reacquaint yourselves with them near the end of High School or beginning college and end up realizing that the raving beauty in front of you is the little girl you used to tease until she cried because she didn't look like the other girls? This is how I see Ami, and that is why I wrote her and Sasuke's relationship as I have and plan to leave that pairing alone, to me they just feel right. Run Like Hell Neon Genesis x Full Metal Panic (COMPLETED) At age six Ilari Shinji was rescued by two of Mithril's best. Now at age 13 and adopted by Sagara Sousuke and Sagara Kaname Shinji is about to be reunited with his childhood friend and first love, Asuka Langley Soryu. An alternative universe telling of NGE, Run Like Hell is the lead up to One Tin Soldier, the retelling of the Angel Wars. In Run Like Hell Shinji and Asuka are forced to hide in plain sight as they hide from a conspiracy to kill the pilots of the EVA series. Shinji has followed in his adopted father's footsteps and is Asuka's body guard and eventually a boyfriend. He is a deadly assassin and Arm Slave pilot who will do anything to keep Asuka safe and happy but haunted by his father's abandonment. Asuka is a girl that's haunted by the suicide of her mother and betrayal of her father. Given a chance to be a child that is loved by a more responsible Misato Asuka is not a vicious as she could have been. Now with Shinji once more in her life and by her side Asuka is destined to be the Angel slayer she could have been in another world. Story continued in Welcome To The Machine. Welcome To The Machine NGE x Full Metal Panic / indefinite hold, loss of inspiration and lack of interest by readers. While I don't put much attention on reviews and comments I do consider the amount of follows and favorites my stories get. Therefore it pains me to place this one on the shelf but considering how much interest Spear has generated I find that it's for the best. Maybe one day I'll pick this up again but it's doubtful. Shinji and Asuka Sagara have arrived in Tokyo 3 on the orders of Shinji's estranged father Gendo Ikari. On arrival, he's reunited with Misato, Kaji and a sister he never knew existed until weeks before his arrival. Continues the story started in Run Like Hell. Updates are sporadic at best due to the demand for updates in Tip Of The Spear. One Tin Soldier NGE x Fallout In development, Shinji awakes to an unfamiliar ceiling to find Asuka, Rei and Kensuke have survived 3I and are now trying to first find out where they are and second, learn to survive in the wastes of a post nuke world. The Kunoichi That Slid Through Time On hold to be rewritten as there are too many plot holes that need to be fixed Sakura travels back in time to set things straight and ensure that she and Naruto find their happiness BEFORE things turn to shit. Strictly Naruto/Sakura My biggest gripes regarding fan fiction: Using western names in an Asian setting, especially when in canon that society_nation_region has no contact or character from the outside. If in your story you have established trade with an area outside the settings borders that introduce a "round eye" OC that's one thing but to introduce an OC with a western name is just plain lazy given the fact that you can use names from other animes or mangas not to mention web sites that list names for Japanese babies. It's jarring to the imagination when that is done, like seeing an anime character in a kimono speaking like a Texan, it's that annoying. The ultimate form of a lazy or poor writer, asking in author notes to ask readers what to do next, suggestions for 'their' story or any other ideas or things that an average writer already has planned out as well as depending on polls for the same. The second you ask the general readership for contributions you've lost me since it's a matter of time that the story will sputter to a sudden halt not to ever be finished. You've also at the same time relinquished all control and it's no longer yours to do as you see fit. If you need direction keep it to a circle of those whose input you respect, keep the discussions private and credit those that have helped you. As for myself while I don't solicit outside my circle I do read any suggestion that a reader gives me and if I see merit I contact that person and begin to get them to tell me, A) how it will help the overall plot and B) how they think it should be implemented. As I said, it's a lazy writer that has to ask for not only pairings but the direction in their story and should I see that I can almost guarantee that I will not give any of that person's work a second glance or chance. Favorite animes: Neon Genesis Evangelion Full Metal Panic High School Of the Dead Black Lagoon Area 88 RahXephon Gunslinger Girl Elfen Lied Solty Rei Cyborg 009 Desert Punk Favorite Mangas Full Metal Panic Full Metal Panic Sigma Gunslinger Girl Gunsmith Cats Burst Suzuka Pastel Triage X Neon Genesis Evangelion: Shinji Ikari Raising Project Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya The Disappearance of Yuki Nagano High School of the Dead Death Note Naruto (up to the very horrid ending) Favorite Female Characters Sakura Haruno, behind that forehead there is a brilliant mind and under that fangirl skin is a caring heart. I have read and heard all the excuses as to why she's hated by the Hinata fans but, she is the best for Naruto. She knows all his moods and quirks. Has seen him at his lowest and at his very best. They have a bond that is already like a marriage, one that was formed in adversity and warfare. If Kishimoto had not caved she would have married Naruto because at some point she grew up and realized how dangerous Sasuke really was and that all he had ever been was a crush. I think at some point she began to love Naruto for real and would have chosen him not because he was her second choice but because she was his first and only choice. I really doubt that she would have willingly married Sasuke, quit her job as not only Ninja but Tsunade's successor to run the hospital just to pop out a baby Uchia that bears no resemblance to her and be a house wife. Yeah, that really sounds legit, especially when her beloved husband not only tried to kill her on more than one occasion but is never home for more than a few days at a time. So little time in fact his kid doesn't even know who he is. And let's not forget he's in the company of the woman that Sakura's 'daughter' most closely resembles. I believe that Sakura would have married Naruto if given the chance since he has always said that he would make sure she always smiled and I think Sakura would have seen to it that Naruto achieved all of his dreams earlier than he did. She would also make sure he set time aside for his family and her. Knowing Naruto as well as she does Sakura would push him to his best. Asuka Soryu, in my opinion she is probably the most tragic female lead that was ever dreamed of. Her life was empty because of her pushing everyone away so by the time she meets Shinji her heart was so cold she could never let her walls down. From finding her dead mother hanging from the ceiling to never letting Shinji into her heart with a mind rape and suicide attempt along the way Asuka never got her happy ending. Maybe this is why I love her so much, she is every missed opportunity, every heart break and every setback a girl could suffer through. I sometimes wonder what she did to make her creator have her suffer so much. That said, in fan fiction one has the chance to give Asuka her happy ending and have her let Shinji into her heart. Some say that she hits Shinji for no reason and that all she is is a bully. I think they miss lots of subtle hints at just how much of a scared little girl Asuka really is. She is a very hard girl to write because of her personality. Haruhi Suzumiya, well just because Haruhi is Haruhi, is there really any other reason? Rally Vincent, she's a bounty hunter that works Chicago, owns a gun store with a huge collection of rare weapons AND she drive a classic Ford Mustang GT 5000. Minne Mae Hopkins, Rally's side kick. She's cute and loves explosives. Her past life however is a little dark. Favorite Pairings NGE; Shinji x Asuka, Kensuke x Rei, Shinji x Hikari ( wish they had more of a chance in fan fics ) FMP; Sousuke x Kaname, Sousuke x Tessa (I think they should have a chance in an A/U), Shiji X Kyoko RahXephon; Ayato x Megumi, near the end Megumi did fall in love with Ayato but her sister had already made her move. Ayato x Asuhina, Probably one of the saddest episodes of the series is Asuhina writing in her diary to Ayato as he fights the Dolem. Her death almost broke the guy and I wonder how close they got while they lived in that hotel room. Maybe a story there and considering how many canon AU's there are maybe a chance for them to have a happy ending. Ayato x Haruka ( not as much as Megumi, in my opinion she's old enough for it to be slightly creepy and she should give her sister a chance ) Naruto; Naruto x Sakura ( Hey, for 15 years he was by her side, they should have been together in the end ) Naruto x Ino ( Because she's almost as close to him as Sakura and they would make cute kids. ) Not that I'm phobic in my personal life but slash pairings do not do it for me and these pairings will guarantee my ignoring of a fic; Shiji x Karwaru, Kyon x Itski, Sousuke x Gauron, Asuka and Rei, Naruto x Sasuke I will not trash a slash couple if they appear in a fic without warning but the pairing better have a good reason for existence, as I said, in my personal life I have no problem with gay couples and I have supported shipmates and old friends that have "came out" but I prefer fics that don't have slash if it's not in both character's psyche or history. Other things I hate is people that have nothing to do but leave a review that does nothing to encourage an author but actually goes out of the way to destroy a persons work and desire to write. I have seen several stories that ended because of one person's insensitive actions under the guise of "creative criticism". Now, to ensure that when I write a Naruto fic and pair him with Sakura before you flame me the following are my reasons for that pair and not Hinata. I do like a story that pairs Naruto with Hinata but they are rare. 1 in the entire manga and anime Hinata interacts with Naruto a handful of times. I find it hard to base a marriage on that let alone any kind of opportunity to have a dating relationship. The final movie before the next gen arrives is moot, it was a poor attempt to justify Chapter 700. 2 Hinata more or less stalked Naruto for years, saw how he was treated, in the anime and manga he was not beaten just ignored and more or less shunned, something that has a detrimental effect for a child with no family or friends. Knowing this Hinata nonetheless never makes a move to befriend Naruto, family approval or not. If she lived to the ideal she placed on him she would have would have made friends, family be damned. It's not until he's in danger of dying that Hinata confesses which is poor timing and could have gotten him killed. That he wasn't hurt by the distraction still amazes me. 3 Naruto's personality is too strong for Hinata, she is groomed to be a traditional wife and possibly clan matriarch. Which in that society traditional means submissive if you are a woman, shinobi training not counting. There would be little to no way that she could keep a tight leash on Naruto and him focused on attaining his goals. 4 Naruto, setting aside him being the Hero and legacy of the Fourth, by being the jinchuriki would never be accepted by the Hyuga clan elders, no matter that Hinata ends up being the clan head. They would not stand for Naruto to become a member of the clan with the possibility to change the way things are done. I believe that Hinata would end the use of the seal with Naruto's help but the elders would fight anything else tooth and nail. Don't get me wrong, I like Hinata and at one point hoped that they would hook up, I think when she was dancing in the moonlight. But, reading the manga and watching the anime when I could convinced me that she was not a good choice, mostly because of her failure to approach Naruto when she has an opportunity. She either passes out, clams up or runs away, how many times does Naruto remark about not understanding her? Now for Sakura, 1, Contrary to popular belief, yes she was a bit of a bitch and fangirl at the beginning but she kept getting better as time passed. Sakura was the only one in the academy to take time to explain something to Naruto if she see's he's flailing without making progress. She was also the one that helped him understand how to get the right amount of chakra on his feet to climb trees, something Kakashi should have done at the start ( don't get me going on all his failures as a teacher, for all of them ) 2, People can't seem to look beyond Sakura's behavior and treatment of Naruto when he returned from the retrieval mission. It was just before Naruto left that she realized how important he was in her life. She understood that the promise he gave her regarding Sasuke most likely broke Naruto's heart and caused him a lot of pain as she realized that he most likely did actually love her and not just have a crush. 3 Sakura trained under Tsunade so she could support Naruto in bringing back Sasuke and stood by him through out. I don't believe that her tears were of worry for a friend when she was pumping his heart, most likely she was scared to lose the one person that she knew loved her and would give her a chance. Same with the hug after defeating Pein. Remember how excited she was when he returned from his 3 year trip? I didn't read it as happy to see a friend, more like happy to see someone she was starting to love but didn't know how to tell him. 4 Sakura hits him, Sakura's a bitch to him, at the beginning, somewhat true, as time goes on her tone changes, she's by his side more than not. Yeah she hits him, but even he says in the canon material only when he deserves it. The hits became fewer as time went on too. 5 Sakura's confession in the Land Of Iron, only Naruto said she was lying. Why? because Naruto had convinced himself that Sakura was still in love with Sasuke. I believe that that she was being honest and it was the fans that made the lie canon. Sakura knew how much Naruto hurt trying to bring back the emo before Sai talked to her which is why she was trying to release him from that stupid promise. If she did not love him she would not have gone off to kill Sasuke, who she is supposed to be still in love with. 6 No serious denial to Minato about being his sons girl and Kushina had advised Naruto to marry a girl like his mother. Who comes close to Kushina in strength and personality? Not Hinata, Sakura. Since there are no red heads in the Leaf his age Naruto subconsciously, I believe, went for a girl that was as close to red as possible in his age group, Sakura. 7 Last item, I fail to believe that Sakura would allow someone who tried to kill her more than a few times as well as her team mate to get as close to her again so marrying Sasuke would be out of the question, not only that, why would she marry a man that is never home, no matter his reasons, and be content. She chases him for years with undying love and once he's her's she just lets him leave for months or years at a time? To raise a child that looks nothing like either parent but suspiciously like her husbands team mate from his years on the run? Sure, I really believe that one. I think had Kishimoto not caved to the shippers Sakura would be Naruto's wife and not Hinata. Fifteen years of development pointing to those as the final couple and that's out the window with a short and terrible chapter 700 and a hackneyed movie to justify it is not what I believe was what was supposed to be canon. | |||||||
