Repeat after me this oath "I will not make the main character of my story a Mary Sue. I will nerf my character if he becomes a boring invincible hero (Unless is funny). I will try to balance the heroes and villains so the heroes don't just crush the villains easily, and that all villains aren't wimps (Again, unless is funny). And most important of all, I will not make the character of the story be myself, and if I do, I will at least disguise it well enough that people don't call me out on it (Unless the version of myself in the story is hated by everyone and a butt monkey)."
