General FAQ

Q: Do you have a beta reader?

A: Yeah, myself. That's how I like doing it.

Q: What is your update schedule?

A: I try to update things on a weekly basis. If everything is on track, then Twilight Key gets a new chapter around Friday, Embers of a Shinobi gets a new chapter on Sunday, and Legend of the Silver Shinobi gets updated on Tuesday/Wednesday. There is no specific time/day for an update because it all depends on when I work on them. Because of real life and personal habits, a lot of my updates are at night. This is currently an unreliable schedule (4/22)

Q: How long is a chapter?

A: My minimum chapter length is around 3k-4k words. I go into each chapter with an end point in mind, meaning I know what events I want to be in the chapter. This decides how long the chapter is and where it ends, not word count. Despite this minimum, I tend to often have chapters that are longer than that. If I feel a chapter is getting too long, then I split it. But that hardly ever happens.

Q: Why didn't you reply to my PM/Why do you take so long to reply?

A: I don't check to see if I have any PMs that often, so it takes me a little to realize that I have any. I also don't like getting stuck in discussions about a story until I start to actively work on that story again, so even if I do see it, I may just wait to reply.

Q: Do you read the reviews for your stories?

A: Yes, I do. I read all of them. Reviews are awesome in that they help me figure out if people like what I'm writing (Beyond just some numbers or statistics). Meaning I know if there is something I should/shouldn't do in the future and maybe even figure out what to do next. Positive reviews also motivate me to get off my lazy ass and write a chapter!

Q: Will there be a pairing?

A: I dunno. Maybe/probably.

Q: Who will it be with?

A: I have someone in mind, but nothing is for certain. I might ask people who they want.

Q: Will Naruto have drive forms?

A: Not sure. Could happen. Haven't planned that out.

Q: What worlds will Naruto go to?

A: I'm aiming to have the same number of worlds as in the game. Right now, seven of them have been chosen. I will probably choose the last few when I need to.

Q: Will you be using non-Disney worlds?

A: Of course.

Q: Why do you keep writing this?! It absolutely sucks! From the plot to the grammar, it's all trash!

Embers of a Shinobi FAQ

Q: How old is Naruto? Is this the Part 1 or 2 Naruto?

A: The story starts with the end of Naruto's fight with Sasuke in the Valley of the End in Part 1, so he is 13.

Q: Who will he be paired with?

A: Honestly, I'm still questioning my ability to sufficiently do a pairing. If I do eventually decide to do one, then I still have to decide who it will be with.

Q: How long will the pairing poll be open?

A: The pairing isn't my priority right now. Because of that, it will remain open until I feel like actively working on the pairing. Of course, this runs the risk of certain characters becoming less/more likely due to events that happen in the story, but whatever.

Q: Will it be a harem?

A: Hell no. Maybe (And that's a freaking huge maybe) two girls. But no more than that.

Q: What about Naruto's other techniques? The jutsu?

A: Remember, this is part 1 Naruto. What did he have, really? Shadow clones and Rasengan. I guess substitution, but I can't recall him using it that often. But who says he hasn't used it? There have been times where he was stabbed/hit, but a clone was the one to die, right? Transformation is also used once in a while.

Q: Why is Kurama so quiet? Why doesn't Naruto use his chakra?

A: Once again, this is Part 1 Naruto. This Naruto did not interact with Kurama. He never even used Kurama's chakra unless he was dead tired or super angry. As for why Kurama is so quiet, he never interacted with this Naruto unless Naruto himself went into the seal.

Q: If Penny can read energy signatures, why didn't she recognize Naruto when she met him?

A: I didn't explain it directly in Chapter 13, but Penny can only detect energy signatures while someone is using "aura" or a "semblance." This means that she hasn't detected Naruto's signature when he isn't Kitsune yet.

Q: Difference between what Naruto is doing and Sasuke turning traitor?

A: Sasuke did it for power and revenge, Naruto is doing what he thinks is right.

Q: Why is he so easily manipulated?!

A: Yes, I'm fully aware that there are some flaws in the logic presented, thanks. Just shut up and sit tight. I have something of a plan. (But even then, there are still people who are happy with it!) And keep in mind that this is Part 1 Naruto, who is 13.
